As a former teacher, working 1-on-1 with kids has always been something I love to do. In this video, I'll model how to teach your 4 year old to read and demonstrate some teacher moves that you can use when working with your little ones.

Mom of 2 here. I moved to away and had no community or family support. So i asked God✝️ to show me. This is what I did for my children with no teaching background. This works! My children are 25 & 29. They soooo thsnked me. Their peers struggle because they missed this. I am now working with disabled children and use this daily with them. Thank you for putting yjis on video. It's so wonderful. This needs to go viral. I would add this only thought: it's OK the parents had help. It takes a community to raise children.

I love the fact that you explicitly stated your high expectations for ALL kids. We take away a child’s self-confidence when we don’t give them an opportunity to experience reach goals that they never believed they could do. That’s the natural high of being an educator🤗 Thank you for your ministry👏🏽👏🏽

Sped preschool teacher of 20 years here. Thank you for putting words to what I'm doing and why it works! Sharing your content with my families and staff. Thank you so much for the way you model and your passion for supporting kiddos and families. You're an excellent teacher.

I teach The Big 6 to small groups (Oral language, phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension). I have been using these techniques you describe for 15 years, with great success.
I love watching the students' literacy learning journeys. Sometimes, I see' light bulb' moments. At other times it's a slow dimmer switch turning on. For some students, I need to provide them with an extension cord for the plug to stay in the socket! My dad was a sparky, can you tell?😂
EVERY child, even those with learning disorders, has the capacity to learn. That capacity is dependant upon my teaching and realistic expectations. However, parent involvement in a child's learning journey is absolutely the most critical aspect of success.
It breaks my heart, as well as makes me angry, how many people have such negative perceptions of teachers, externalising the job and forgetting the important role as teacher in the home.

I work with three children about 5 times a week, and it’s not a full classroom of kiddos but they each have different personalities and so I really stress out about how to approach our sessions together. Some days are stellar and some days feel like a step backwards. We usually have an hour, hour and a half long sessions but I have one student that has a shorter attention span and this video just calmed me down and gave me the reset I need.

Thanks for showing a real lesson with the child, it was very helpful to see you in action. And thanks for all the tips. I have a master's in Music Education, but learned so much from you regarding engaging little ones.

Thank you so much for this, how i wish i knew sooner. I have a terrible parenting experience with my 9 year old. Now my 3year old is experiencing this bad time as well. I always struggle to get them to do what i want them to do i get mad and end up hitting and yelling and i swear it breaks my hearts to see them so scared of me.. when i come close to them they run for their lives and hide. I really feel bad. I've always wanted to get help with this, I've been praying asking God to help but it just never stops, im so afraid that my kids will believe that i never loved them or cared about their feelings. I really wish to change my behavior and raise them with the warmest love they deserve 😢💔
