Great information. I hope going forward the medical community will sperate chronic inflammatory conditions from OA. They are systemic conditions & can have serious effects on your health. I have even met doctors that seem confused about it. I'm also shocked by how little focus there is on nutrition in medical schools. Thank you again for all the information you present & the positive attitude.

Doctor, I’ve had arthritis in both big toes since 2015. I’m also flatfoot. I’m currently having ball of foot and both heels issues. I’ve tired every thing you mentioned except injections. It’s time to consider surgery for Hallux Rigidus at this point. What type of surgery will should I have?

Great video Doc.

While home remedies can offer some relief, they should complement rather than replace professional medical advice. Here are some home remedies that may help manage arthritis symptoms:

1. **Hot and Cold Therapy:**
- Applying a hot compress or cold pack to affected joints can help reduce inflammation and ease pain.

2. **Regular Exercise:**
- Gentle exercises, such as swimming or walking, can improve joint flexibility and strength.

3. **Weight Management:**
- Maintaining a healthy weight can alleviate stress on joints, particularly for weight-bearing joints like the knees.

4. **Balanced Diet:**
- Include anti-inflammatory foods like fatty fish, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in your diet.

5. **Turmeric and Ginger:**
- Both have anti-inflammatory properties; adding them to your diet or consuming as supplements may be beneficial.

6. **Epsom Salt Soaks:**
- Soaking in a warm bath with Epsom salts can help relax muscles and ease joint discomfort.

7. **Massage:**
- Gentle massaging of affected joints can provide relief and improve circulation.

8. **Omega-3 Fatty Acids:**
- Found in fish oil, flaxseed, and walnuts, these can have anti-inflammatory effects.

9. **Adequate Rest:**
- Ensure you get enough sleep and allow your body to recover.

10. **Hydration:**
- Staying well-hydrated is crucial for joint health.

Always consult with a healthcare professional before trying any new remedy, as they can provide guidance based on your specific condition. If symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical attention promptly.

I have Ankylosing spondylitis and took the biological agent "Humira" for 4 years, it worked like a charm until in a matter of 4 months causes demyelination and inflammation in my spine leading to permanent spinal cord damage at the T2 level and paralyzes from my chest down! Now I take 6 Omeg3 a day and eat health avoiding food that can cause inflammation and exercise daily which seems to keep the arthritis down enough.

Consider trying hydrotherapy, which involves exercising in warm water. The buoyancy reduces stress on joints, and the warmth can soothe arthritis symptoms. Consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new exercise routine, including hydrotherapy, to ensure it aligns with your specific condition.

Other than tropical treatments what treatment is available for osteoarthritis? And how does Dr know? It’s osteoarthritis when symptoms are similar to psoriatic arthritis. I have what I believe to be psoriatic arthritis. My blood work shows inflammatory markers. I have a little bit of psoriasis, but mostly it’s joint pain, I don’t understand however, we rheumatoid dr can just eliminate psoriatic arthritis and call it osteoarthritis. Also does taking collagen supplements help replace collagen? This is a great video and I thank you very much for it. I wish you were in my state. I hope to find a foot doctor somewhat knowledgeable like you most doctors honestly around here they not anything like you. You’re amazing the people in your state are Blessed to have you.

Incredibly important information! Thank you! ❤ Can you give me an idea of roughly how long a PRP injection might last?

Phil Michelson, the golfer, does 36 hour fasts to reduce inflammation for his psoriatic arthritis when he is not in a tournament. Plus he had a bad diet that he blames for his condition that he has since changed.

I've been subscribed for a while but this is the first episode I have not finished. What the heck is the gibberish scrolling across the bottom of the screen? Distracting and doesn't mean much (when I'm concntrating on what you're SAYING). And the near-constant 'mini-you' popping up every two minutes is annoying AF. Sorry - I'm outa' here.
