Dauphinoise Potatoes Recipe - The Best Holiday Side Dish

Показать описание
This dauphinoise potatoes recipe really is one of the best Thanksgiving side dishes you could possibly make. It is something I've loved making for the last 15 years and is always very popular at the dinner table. It's similar to a potato Gratin but the infused cream really sets it off in a big way. Potato dauphinoise will always have a special place in my heart and it will also definitely be one of my thanksgiving sides this year and every year after until I'm no longer living!

This one has become one of my go-to's when inviting guests over because it *DOES NOT* disappoint. I've also experimented with it over the past year or so and you can honestly do some crazy delicious stuff with it. Adding a nice smokey bacon is a game changer, messing around with toppings like roasted garlic or crispy shallots is incredible, etc. Thanks for showing us this one, Sonny. Never would have found it without you!

If you keep your sliced potatoes in cold water you can keep them from that oxidation that happens while layering. doesn't affect the taste that much but is just another one of those nice little details to elevate your dishes

These are seriously amazing!! We have a local German restaurant that does these once a week. Saturdays I believe. You usually have to make a reservation and include these with it so they don't run out!

ok dude so Thanksgiving is a huge deal in our family and I do A LOT of the cooking. We typically have around 28 family members to feed. I've been binge watching your vids today and I've now updated our TG menu to include this dish and your deviled eggs. I'll also be upping my Brussel sprout game after watching your vid on that!

I just came upon your channel a couple weeks back primarily from just stumbling through a rabbit hole/vortex of cooking channels and this is one of the first things I attempted making....and I don't know if their are enough descriptors or synonyms for "delicious" to do this dish justice.

Made this last week for Thanksgiving and it was a HUGE success! I think the family will be requesting it every year now. One question — can it be prepared ahead of time with the cream and then put in the oven day of?

I love that you acquire the onion/shallot /garlic flavor without the slimy texture if left in!! I would imagine Gruyère cheese important and specific!

Wonderful. 😁 I can see, you honor food so much. Maybe that's why it turns out so delicious when you cook. 😀 I love the explanation about the thym and rosemary and their effect. ❤️
