This is the first time I’ve seen a short that isn’t joking about 9/11.

I worked at the World Trade Center back in the late 90’s to Early 2000’s. I was just heading to work on September 11th, 2001. At exactly 7:00 AM, I entered the North Tower aka WTC 1, I worked at the 81st floor. I was doing paperwork and portfolios that day, at 8:21 My best friend arrived to the 81st floor, he worked with me. He ended up dying that day because he was trying to save his wife from the 105th floor. But the plane impact happened on the 93rd-99th floors so it wasn’t possible to save her, he tried so hard to save her but there was nothing he could do. He ended up dying in the collapse that day. I was trying to tell him that saving his wife wouldn’t be possible because of the fire. We both thought it was a gas leak, until I saw United Airlines Flight 175, a Boeing 767-222 crash into the South Tower aka WTC 2, that’s when I left my floor, I knew my friend was gonna die. He didn’t care though, he was depressed his whole life because his dad was an alcoholic and beat him until he was an adult. But I didn’t want my best friend to die. Until he said this “Just go down to safety, I’ll try my hardest to save my family even if I die, If I die up there, remember one thing for me. I will always trust you like a brother.” That was the last sentence I’ve heard from him. I really miss my Buddy, Then I had one thought that would haunt me for the rest of my life, Do I go down for safety or do I stay here trying to convince my friend until the last second. I had no choice. So I went down the stairs, it was very Smokey and it was hard to breathe in, I went down those stairs for 1 hour and 10 minutes at least. But about 45 minutes on my way down the stairs. I hear a loud noise like something fell, turns out, That was the South tower aka WTC 2 collapsing. So everyone was panicking, but I also remember someone passed out on the stairs and a lot of first responders. I didn’t even know it was collapsing yet. Until one of the fireman on the dispatch said that the South tower collapsed. And I ask what happened, they said that the Pentagon was hit and that the South tower collapsed. So I was running down the stairs, Bumping into people in a rush, and I BARELY made it out of the North Tower aka WTC 1 at 10:24 AM, minutes before the North Tower collapsed. Then, I was relieved and glad I made it out safe, So I went into a shop right by the Twin Towers for safety. Then I see the North tower Collapse, and my heart crushed because immediately, I realized my friend just died. 23 years later, I Still have trauma from that day. 5 years ago, I was offered a job from the 1 WTC, the new WTC today. I Declined the offer because of 9/11. Now. I’m a Financial Advisor at a bank and I love my job. I’m still traumatized from that day though.

My parent lived in NY on 9/11. Tragic times. No jokes should ever had been made. I will stay a true New Yorker.

My grandma was working in the twin towers when 911 happened. She had to go to the hospital I was only like 4-5 years old and I was crying because I thought she was gonna die. Thank God she made it out alive😇🫶 Right now she is perfectly fine and she is not injured and she is ok like nothing ever happened!

My grandad died there on the 89th floor. I pray and hope for peace and prosperity for years to come. 9/11 is a serious thing. I’m hurt that people make such offensive and even worse, normalize jokes about this. Fly high to the lost souls🕊️❤️
