Wound healing is a complex process that involves the body's natural ability to repair itself. There are four main stages of wound healing:
Inflammation: This is the first stage of wound healing. It is characterized by redness, swelling, heat, and pain. The purpose of inflammation is to remove foreign debris and bacteria from the wound.
Proliferation: This is the second stage of wound healing. It is characterized by the growth of new cells and blood vessels. The purpose of proliferation is to close the wound and restore its function.
Maturation: This is the third stage of wound healing. It is characterized by the remodeling of the scar tissue. The purpose of maturation is to strengthen the scar tissue and make it less noticeable.
Remodeling: This is the final stage of wound healing. It is characterized by the continued remodeling of the scar tissue. The purpose of remodeling is to make the scar tissue as strong and as functional as possible. #BME210
In this video, we'll use a visual guide to explain the four stages of wound healing. We'll also discuss the factors that can affect wound healing and how to promote wound healing.

By understanding the four stages of wound healing, you can help to ensure a successful outcome for your wound.
