I treat a bed sore with wound wash spray and then use iodine and then apply crème and then a band aid. No more open volcano looking wound. I change it several times a day, if band aid comes off.

I listened to her advice recently after a bike accident and all I can say is never again will I listen to her. I found a doctor on YouTube that gave better and more accurate advice and I also consulted my GP as well. I repeated everything that the doctor on YouTube said vs what this nurse said and he said the doctor was spot on and that he agrees with the doctor and that I should follow that advice.

Nature gave us an amazing present like that for a reason...

I involved in a recent motorcycle accident and earned serious road rush wound on right arm, left elbow, left waist and left knee i cleaned my wounds using iodine solution and bacitricin ointment for 12 days it healed. I never put any bandage whatsoever but take a bath every two days. Even when it already scab i still wipe it wet with iodine solution and cover it with ointment. I think the goal is avoiding any dust or extreme sunlight and air drying to hasten the healing

Idc what any doctor says I'll almost never do "moist" wound healing, for minor to mild scraps and wounds it's waaaay to much of a hassle to moisten it and exchange the bandages every day and prevent your cloths from interfering with it and so on. Just disinfect it after injury and let it scab, if you want a reduced possibility of a scar then sure but other than that our body's have been doing this for millions of years for a reason which is because it's fast and effective (if you disinfect it of course) so I'll always just let it scab away and continue about my day

what about moisture after scabbing. I can't tell the difference between scab and blister

Aloe vera makes more sense because it has healing agents and keeps the skin moisturized.

So I tried keeping my kinda deep cut moist and dry, but I kept getting maceration no matter what I tried, I switched to gauze but it scabbed now so. What should I do?

I tried this for a few days but all it did was keep the wound fresh; whenever I took the bandage off the wound was fresh like flesh, not sure if I was putting too much vaseline but that's what happened with me

Please just let the scab stay it will go away the scab is apart of the body healing itself you need the scab it prevents blood loss it’s not a bad thing it does better than this whole video will

I have a nasty skin tear on my knee and some of the skin was covered back on but the skin is partially purple and the rest has attached and has gone back to normal colour. There are these strange little clear circles in a small area, do you know what these are? I’m on day 3. Keeping it clean and moist and covered and had a tetanus shot
Thanks !

What about maceration? I thought wet wound sites led to maceration....what is the difference between maceration and a healthy, moist wound site?

Should I change the bandage daily? Dosent that delay the healingprocess

Hi. Thank you for the video. I don't like the idea of putting up petroleum product on an open wound (an infected cyst) do you have any other suggestions? I'm doing two warm compresses a day.

apparently and i dont know why my mom told me that aloe vera doesnt work on healing wounds or helping scabs, that "neosporin" helps better than that, i disagree with her on that honestly, ive got a bad scrape area on my chest that i did accidentally overexfoliating my skin, and i know it's going to take a few weeks for it to heal, can it be covered by a large bandage to help, it's still red but i feel not putting anything on the wound cause it's red would help it. so what is better for a open wound that was caused by over exfoliation?

What happens in nature ? Isn't a graze drying up and scabbing over the way your body heals ?

Good points, except for the toxic petroleum.
