In this video I demo how to work the psoas and the iliacus both professionally and effectively. Plus some new tricks you may not know. We as MT's have a love/hate relationship with this muscle and my hope is for us to feel comfortable and confident with this work.

Hello Rebel massage I don’t know what to touch on first... I appreciate you touching on those muscle groups that I tend to stay away from but now I feel more confident and can’t wait to try this. And thanks for the shout out to the mothers and our amazing jobs as parents.

Your rate and rhythm at which you move is super ideal for a comfortable yet effective massage. I find a lot of Massage Therapists move too quickly with their hands and its very pokey or way too light…your pressure seems like it’s perfect!

LOVE this channel. Probably the BEST new massage channel out there! I have a request: Could you show illiopsoas and serratus massage on clients who are ticklish? I know these areas need to be worked, even if a client is ticklish and has to laugh through it, but there are NO professional videos ANYWHERE on the internet that demonstrate work on sensitive clients. And I'm not even talking about avoiding ticklishness necessarily (because I know sometimes that's impossible!) but it'd be great to see some professional videos of a therapist working through a client's laughter. I know it occurs because I've come across it many times in real life, but it's rarely rarely addressed on massage channels (If they do they just say "this area might be ticklish" but the videos never, ever demonstrate it on actual, ticklish clients.) Thank you in advance!

Thank you for this video! I'm a massage therapist with 18 years experience but just a few hundred hours of education who has always steered clear of psoas work because I was afraid of it. Unlike everything else I learned in school, I wasn't able to feel the muscle and understand what I was doing. Plus, there are a lot of nerves and major vessels in the area that my teachers and the internet never seemed to address. While another video did a slightly better job of teaching me to find it, yours really helped me to feel more comfortable with the work by telling me what where and how things could go wrong and how to engage with it safely. No one else is putting that vital information in their videos even though rule number ONE is "don't break the client". I finally feel like I can play around in the area, thanks to you and the specific information you alone seem to be providing.

Loved seeing a person that is not a super model, would love to see you work on someone of different weight and size as well. Love your tutorials. Thank you.

Excellent video love!! I needed some extra advice on how to manipulate the iliacus as I saw improvement working on the psoas. I've been working with my client to help him avoid surgery. He has anterior stenosis of L3 and L4. I've been treating him for about 2 years and have cleared out all the knots in his back ans posterior hips. And discovered how the iliopsoas keeps yanking him back into his chronic pain. He's been an oral surgeon for 40 years. I told him he needs to cut back his hours since his job is the possible source of his condition. He plans on it in spring so here's to natural recovery and no surgery! This video will truly boost his experience and outcome of treating his condition with massage. Poor guy, he's been seeing doctors for 8 years to try Ann's help him. Massage has been the only thing to allow him to be pain free for several days and play tennis. His favorite activity.

Great job!! Keep up the good work! Please thank your lovely volunteer for me!! The world needs more real people that are genuinely beautiful! I loved your sweet comment about the bravery and effort involved with being a mother. So overlooked by many. Women are so strong we need to be reminded. Thanks for doing that for us. 😍💓😇
