Why you can’t massage the psoas (hip flexor) #shorts

Показать описание
The psoas muscle (hip flexor) is a deep muscle, attaching to the front of the lumbar spine. A common approach is to use massage or myofascial release to decrease the tightness. But when assessing the anatomy, it doesn't seem possible to actually reach the hip flexor muscle.

You can reach it from the front since it crosses over the hip. Sidelying even better.

L. This is totally factually inaccurate.

lol you’re kinda right but also wrong.

1. the abdominals are not a very thick muscle group (not counting the rectus) which are easily pushed through if relaxed.

2. while yea, organs do obfuscate the origin of the psoas there is plenty of room above the inguinal ligament on the inside of the hip that can be palpated and massaged.

there are lots of people who have gotten their psoas massaged so please stop. lol

Hi there. So can you help someone with chronic lower back pain and intense psoas pain?

Yes you can! Same way a doctor or nurse palpates the deeper organs!

There’s more than one spot to target the psoas besides the spot on the spine. 🙄

I'm guessing you don't have a degree in kinesiology and don't know how to palpate.

You can tho. I’ve had it done and do it to myself on a regular basis.
