Today is a long awaited episode from my series Thrift Store Makeovers, where I take a used, worn out item (OR sometimes from yard sales or off of ebay) clean it up, fix it up and decorate it. I love hunting through thrift stores to find old, rejected items and then decorating them and putting my own style on them to turn them into new pieces of art. I've definitely missed these thrift flips and I want to do more thrifting soon!

In this episode I am going to be painting on and customizing a wooden shelf. This was such a fun painting project and I really hope you guys enjoy the final results!

Hey! my name is Moriah (pronounced muh-rye-yuh 😂 ) and this is my channel....obviously. I'm 25 and like doing anything creative...and being snarky.....just a lil. I make a lot of decorating, painting and general art videos here. I'm obsessed with editing and adding lil bits to my videos, so if that's not your thing....oof you may hate this haha. I paint on squishies, thrift store finds, and other random things I pick up. I also love to draw, but don't expect anything too skilled, I'm not the best at that haha. You will also find occasional crafting/testing crafting kits on my channel which are always a hot mess. And even some baking (REALLY bad at that, but it's fun to try LOL).

I was never really interested in art channels until I found Moriah Elizabeth. She makes art fun and not boring; she has fun and shows the fun to us by joking around and saying she doesn’t do the art if she doesn’t think it’ll be fun. To fill in wood cracks that you're going to paint over (the patch won't stain so painting over it is ideal for this method), sand your project to get some sawdust. Pack the collected sawdust into your crack or imperfection. Put superglue on the sawdust, make sure to soak all of the sawdust & let it dry. Sand the imperfection & pack it again in any area that isn't sticking just above the rest of the project. Put your last superglue coat on over the sawdust & let that coat dry. Finish by sanding the patch flush to blend it in to your project. Then you're ready to paint with no visible cracks or imperfections.

I always keep a little jar of sawdust (for use in projects I'm going to paint because then it doesn't matter what color the sawdust is as it won't hold stain or oil very well) just so I only have to lightly sand any project & so the patching part takes about 3-5 minutes total. You can tape off corners, making a tape boarder similar to how an epoxy boarder is made & use this method to fix a jacked up corner on a project as well.
