Before retiring, for 25+ years, I was a consultant for Fortune 100 companies. I learned long ago to shop in the thrift stores nearest the wealthy communities. Their hand-me-downs are usually still in VERY good condition. By the time I retired, I had more than 100 dress shirts (paid 75 cents on average for each) 10 suits (between 60 and 150 each - some top shelf brands). Belts, shoes, and accessories were always bought at an outlet or discount store. The best part is when those who look like they paid top dollar for their suits asked where I got my suits... I just smiled. Best stores for this type of shopping I found to be AmVets...

I got a 22in Calvin Klein hard shell airplane carry on at a well known thrift store in the country. It had some wear and tear, plus I needed to remove quite a few stickers on the outside. Inside was perfectly clean, but I spot cleaned some areas and steam cleaned the rest. It retails for over $100 USD solo and I bought it for $10, and didn’t spend any money on cleaning it up because I already had everything. That is a 90% discount. Thrifting is my new favorite hobby.

thrift store are so cool, i absolutly love to go there, there is always cool things! my friend needed a costume for a LARP, so we went there and her entire costume was only 100$ with all the clothes and accessories, i'm sure if we didn't get the costire here it would have cost like 300$ if not more

For my Student Council I was helping out at a thrift store and it was so fun but upsetting how people took stuff and threw it in random places and didnt take care of the items they wanted to buy or were looking at, thrift stores are underrated
