How to Reduce Input Lag in BF5 - What is Future Frame Rendering? - Battlefield V Tutorial

So when I first jumped in to a match of Battlefield 5 multiplayer, I noticed that my mouse felt incredibly weird and "laggy" compared to in Battlefield 1, it was driving me absolutely insane. Well the setting that was causing this input lag was none other than Future Frame Rendering, it did give me better overall game performance but at the cause of mouse input lag which I did not enjoy whatsoever. So here is how you can reduce your input lag in Battlefield 5 but keep the best possible performance at the same time with future frame rendering and by doing some battlefield 5 performance tweaks.

i drop from 90fps to 55, 65 turning it off :(

By turning it off I loose 30-35 FPS and I'm no longer able to sustain stable 120 FPS.

The input lag from having less FPS in my case is actually bigger than the input lag from having future frame rendering on. I'd recommend doing some testing before just turning it off as it can have a shitty effect on your overall experience!

And after 4 years we can name it DLSS 3 FG😂😂
Future frame rendering increases fps, but PC latency is worse.

For an optimal coming system you want your GPU to run at 100% and your CPU at anything bellow 100%. When your CPU starts to hit 100%, your GPU usage will gets lower depending on how big the bottleneck is. Meaning your PC is no more balanced.

it feels like you play on console so much in put lag and when you turn it on you get console frames bf1 was running so much better no future frame rate bullshit

I find that I get a very minor input latency with it on, not sure if it's my monitor or something but I have a 144hz acer predator monitor, for me the latency is hardly noticeable so the jump from 70-90 fps to 110-140 is very much justified in my case :)

and how did u test this? By ur feelings?? where is hardware to test input lag? where is numbers? -_-

Thanks for this great Video! Setting pre rendered frames to 2 (which was standart in BF1!) works perfect for me.

What i did to fix the issues: I went to Nvidia CP and set mpf to 1. Went ingame and set it to dx11 and Mpf to on. I found that if i had dx11 on with mpf set to off, my cpu and gpu usage was around 40-50%. With mpf on, my usage went straight up 90+% and now my fps stays around 100-120, sometimes 140 and never below 85. (i5 9600k gtx 980)

If you have high frame rate and low monitor response time just leave this option on. More frames are better than less than noticeable input lag.

I’m running DX12 with FFR on and I’m getting great performance at 1080p with a Ryzen 5 2600x and an RTX 2060 and I’m not noticing any input lag whatsoever.
