I hope you are staying safe and well. Drinking a-lot of water while you eat dilutes digestive juices. This, in turn, allegedly interferes with the proper breakdown of food, impairing nutrient absorption. It also supposedly slows the emptying of the stomach, leaving you uncomfortably bloated. This can also have an effect on the digestion of proteins which can cause lots of gas and cramping. 😊

I drink 64-72 oz a day of water and my skin is very clean looking. I cut out the sugars and I have not had major RA joint pain in 3 months. I eat lots of vegetables and fruits. I walk 5 miles a day and in bed for sleep at 830pm. Thank you Doc for the continuing in educating us on being a better beautiful self. You are truly a heaven sent. I worked in the medical field for 25 yrs and you are the first to ever talk about how everything about being healthy. Once again THANK YOU DOC.

I agree with Dr. Mandell. As a health care practitioner, I stress to my patients the importance of hydration, however, a lot of people don’t know what proper hydration is and how much daily water consumption they should consume . Their assumptions that sodas, coffee, wine, beer, carbonated drinks are part of hydration which is NOT . How much water ???
To be at your best, you should be drinking 50% of your body weight in ounces daily, if not, you are chronically dehydrated. Also you should be drinking the best water you can possibly get your hands on 6x more hydrating than any other water !!! Kangen water !!!

This is such great advice, and it really works! I used to drink water at the wrong times, and it resulted in exactly the unfortunate results mentioned here. I like to drink water at least 30 minutes before eating, and at least one hour after eating, 6.5 to 8 cups per day. I never drink water with meals.

I did not know this information before but for several years I consume 2 glasses of water as soon as I wake up in the morning without eating nothing and before going to bed at dinner 2 more glasses 😅😅😅 even during the day I consume enough.Thank you
