York is a beautiful city in North Yorkshire that makes for an excellent day trip or UK city break. York's history and architecture take you back through time, with archaeological evidence suggesting that settlements around York date back to the Mesolithic period. It is a city filled with history dating back not just centuries but millennia.

York is one of England’s finest historic cities. The Romans knew it as Eboracum. To the Saxons it was Eoforwick. The Vikings, who came as invaders but stayed on in settlements, called it Jorvik.

Our visit today is to explore York’s more recent history. The iconic York Minster, architecture from medieval times, its magnificent Georgian town houses and we talk a walk through the world famous shambles. All you Harry Potter fans will love that one

We didn't get time to go to the train museum today or visit the station. That will have to be for another day.

We thought of you Sarah @theexPAWers when we saw the Gremlins ( aka Goblins ( aka gargoyles )). @fototripper Gavin you may enjoy a wander round with us being a Yorkshireman!

We hope you enjoy and if you are watching along please Subscribe to follow our Journey.

York in the mist is stunning! We used to live there and it's such a photogenic city. Great tour, the drone footage of the Minster is fantastic!

What amazing adventure together ❤️. Where's your son in this video, guys? What historic buildings. Gosh, I'd get lost around there. You seemed to know your way around. Lovely drone footage, and excellent piloting there, Graham. Epic in so many ways.... ATB... keep warm...

What an amazing day in York we had. Even though it was freezing and playing havoc with our camera batteries, the mist and fog only added to the atmosphere of the ancient city. It is definitely worth a visit for anyone who has never been.

Sorry about the little echo/reverb we used different mics and I didn't change to mono.
