We are spending 2 days in York, England, exploring historic sites, trying foods and drinks, and checking out the amazing things this city has to offer. We start our day at the York Minster, even climbing the tower to get the fantastic view from the top before heading to the Shambles, getting drinks at The Botanist, having afternoon tea at the famous Betty's tea room, grabbing a drink at a haunted pub (we later learned the alleged most haunted pub in York is actually the Golden Fleece). On our last day we check out the popular Ghost Merchants of York and get a Yorkshire Pudding wrap before heading on to Whitby.

We are sharing unique and geeky places all around the world every week, so make sure you check out the rest of our videos and subscribe. Please leave us a comment to let us know where you’d like to see a video from next!

As someone from York, and who works in the city centre it’s awesome to see it from a tourists point of view. It’s so easy to take it for granted and watching this has made me feel really lucky to live here ☺️

York is an amazing city. The National Railway Museum is a whole day out itself. Then there's the Jorvik Viking centre, boat trips on the river, the Shambles, the Minster... You could spend a week there.

Love the way you guys are so open minded and up for trying everything and anything in Britain! We take our history and our character too much for granted…so it’s great to watch you appreciate everything. Hope you had an absolute blast here!

The next time you're in York you should definitely do one of the night-time ghost walk tours. A very fun and interactive way of learning about some of the history, myths and legends of the city.

The wife and I spent 4 days in York last month and fell in love with it. We stayed at an outstanding little B&B ( Bishop and Bison ) booked through our wonderful tour company (McKinlay Kidd) and enjoyed our entire stay. We loved the old town and its shops and pubs. The minster is treasure not to be missed. The Yorkshire Dales is so beautiful you have to keep telling yourself that it is actually real.

I remember going on a school trip to York Minster in middle school. We all found it a bore. Now I’m older I really do appreciate the architecture and the history x

I really love all your videos - I really do. You are lovely people. But don't forget that the motto of 'The York Ghost Merchants' shop is: "never give a sucker an even break!'

I lived in Yorkshire all my life and never been to the top of York Minster. Your video has made me want to give it a go. Great review of York 👍

The Shambles were originally butcher shops hence the name. The shops used to have fold down shelves (Shembles) outside on which were displayed various animal parts and joints of meat. The word Shambolic originates from the sight of these displays.

I live in York and it is so nice to hear your comments on our wonderful city, I noticed you visited a couple of places but there is oh! So much more to see in York we have the bar walls all the bars, the railway museum, York station, the museum, the castle, chocolate works and much much more.it would probably take days to visit everything……

I love York, been visiting since I was a child. Whitby is even closer so glad you made it there, too. Highly recommend Durham and / or Newcastle if you can get there, they are each a great day out for different reasons.

York is my favourite city in the UK. It's in the best county as well (Yorkshire), although I'm biased on that one.

Glad you loved York as well!

Just found your channel and subscribed. I love York, it's full of history and things to see and do. I always visit in the off season when it's quieter and has fewer tourists. I'll be back there in March in fact. Looking forward to it. Cheers!

There was a Bishop of York in 314 AD, the first stone structure on the site was 637 AD, the current structure was started in 1220 AD
