I practice this. During lap/phone session, every 20 minutes, l look at something at least 20 ft away for at least 20 seconds.

Had 20/20 vision for so many years and like 6 years ago my eyes started to change and now I’m near sighted. I’m 28

Pretty sure that's how I ended up short sighted from the age of 7. I experienced neglect from my caregivers and didn't have much face time, subsequently I spent my early years with my head in books reading or drawing.

I feel like this is why I feel so much pressure behind my eyes

When I went camping this week I came back to the city to find myself staring at the furthest point I could see on the horizon and couldn’t explain it any other way than ‘where I can look the farthest I felt most free’ we spend our whole lives not bobbing and weaving around sticks and over branches we’ve lost touch with reality. I’m looking at the trees on the horizon everyone is staring at the screen right in front of their face, bad solution!

So I have to buy a bigger screen and put it down the hallway, got it

My eye doctor called it Scholars Eyes. Basically saying if you read a lot early on you will become Near sighted. Lol, I have a pair of Scholars Eyes.

Had perfect eyesight all my life, spent the last 8 years or so as a shut-in because of mental health problems and was on my PC all day every day. Now I'm shortsighted because of exactly what he's talking about.

As you said, regardless of age, when you need to change the brain circuitry, a solid reason is the catalyst for it.

That’s what I’ve been saying for a couple of years. I have perfect vision up close but if i look far away it’s a little blurry. Everyone says it’s normal and I haven’t had any doctor saying that i need glasses but i can tell that looking in the distance is blurry.

this study was disproven to show that looking at things close to you for extended periods of time does not have a lasting effect on your vision

My mom always regurgitated that looking at the TV will hurt my eyesight without providing any reasoning. Perhaps I would have listened if I heard this 🤦‍♂️
