Just proof that fashion isn’t just art; it’s performance art. It’s not supposed to be comfortable. It’s supposed to make a statement. In theater, if you’re not bleeding by dress rehearsal, then you’re not working hard enough. Same applies here. I remember I was wearing a wig for an opera I was performing. The girl who put my wig on me added 2 extra bobby pins to make sure it was secure. By the time I got up the stairs to the back stage wings, I was in so much pain I couldn’t remember any of my Italian. The costume mistress had to grab me and pulled out those extra pins and all the lyrics came flooding back. She said my eyes were rolling and I was slurring my words and she knew exactly what was wrong. One incident in a long list of back stage performance stories. Never underestimate a costume mistress or a fashion designer or coordinator.

I don't get how its even legal for a designer to physically put a client in danger by allowing them to ware something that could possibly kill them i get the celeb is responsible for there own choices but putting a client in danger is irresponsible

How on earth is a "custom-made" dress so badly fitting? It's not especially difficult to make comfortable corsetry, after all, for *hundreds of years* women wore it every day without issue (pretty much anything negative you've heard is related to the short-lived fashion of tight lacing). It just goes to prove that fashion designers a) aren't aware of fashion history and b) hate women.
