With the new season of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series about to start here's a reminder of what can go wrong.

While the bravery and skill of the competitors is not in doubt, last year's events proved that even the best divers, such as champion Gary Hunt, can sometimes get it wrong.

The 2019 championship starts in the Philippines on April 13.

You can literally break bones/have internal bleeding from these heights if you land wrong. Much respect!

I'm a diver of 3 meters, and flops from that height hurt like hell. I can't even imagine how painful a flop from that high is😞

I love all of the divers (in gear) who instantly speed towards the contestants, as they are so professional and good at recognising when someone has had a bad landing.

I stood on a piece of Lego once in bare feet so I know how much pain these guys have gone thru.

0:43 - I knew this man personally. Artem Silchenko. He told many horror stories about the failed landing. Even if you deviate only a few degrees from the vertical axis when entering the water, this is enough to injure your neck or spine. But in this video splashdowns are scarier.

Ouch! At the speed they smash into the water, I can't imagine it feels a whole lot softer than a parking lot! I wonder if some of those guys broke bones...

I have always been very interested in this issue of bad falls in the water, since I jumped 32 meters and I made 2 herniated discs, and I fell "well" and straight .. Greetings from Spain, I hope there is a second part of this! I love how you also compiled the moments later to see if they came out well from the water

I once tried to do a front flip into a river from a 6m tall tree. Did it wrong and fell on my back. Hurt like hell.

The dangers of trying this alone or not enough people is that some of them would’ve died by drowning unconsciously if there wasn’t help

These guys are badssses. I'm crying off a diving board when I slap my back, leg etc. I was nervous at 40 ft. These guys are jumping 100 ft at 70mph? Miss the redbull stop in Boston. Such a random place to stop, but was there for 2 yrs they came. Amazing.

I dived from 1/5 of what these guys jump from and tore a shoulder rotator cuff. Can’t imagine what damage had been done, and pain these guys are going through

These safety divers are well trained professionals...after the impactone diver goes down the rest stays in the impact area. Well coordinated.
