I love this. Calypso feels more unhinged here than in most animatics. Weirdly, that makes me feel a little more of sympathy (because she seems more like someone who had her mind twisted by a hundred years of solitude, rather than a sane and manipulative woman)

This is so cool! Love your depiction of the two of them, how Calypso seems more dangerous and like she is willing to do anything to keep him there, even destroying the rocks. Love the touch with the haircutting, like how she destroyed some of his memories with the rocks and now he wanted to destroy her memories with her hair! Awesome details <3

This song will always be sad. I feel sympathy for both ody and Calypso as they got screwed over in different ways. Amazing job!

The scene from 1:18-1:20. Honestly breaks my heart, listen I know what Calypso did was wrong, I’m not defending her on any of her actions. But, at least from my perspective, Calypso although being 100+ years of age, still has the mind of a child. She was cast away as a child, and was never able to learn anything or learn from anyone that would help her to develop more maturely. Her idea of love is idealized like a little kid’s fantasizing of love akin a fairy tale. Doesn’t justify her actions in any way, but at least can allow for some understanding.

I've watched a lot of animatics for this song (19 of 'em) and a lot of them I feel give Calypso too much leniency or makes her look too sympathetic. Not this and I love that about it. You tell her backstory but that doesn't make what she did forgivable
