Beans have a lot of carbs in them. Pinto beans have 2 grams of carbs per every 3 grams. That's about 66.6% carbohydrate based.

This idiotic concept of not getting "kicked out of ketosis" is a fad. There is nothing magical about being in ketosis. They pick an arbitrary number for what your blood keytones should be in order to be in ketosis. But there is no reason why you should be in ketosis. There is a good reason for keeping your blood glucose below a certain level - namely to avoid overproduction of insulin, but frankly, I see no evidence that my brain is working better when my keystone levels are high. She also misses the big reason to avoid beans - mainly that they are full of lectins. But you can get around that by soaking them, changing the water, and then pressure cooking them. Anything with too much carbohydrate can spike your blood sugar, including beans. So go for the lower carbohydrate beans and don't eat too much of them. Forget the ketosis BS.
