I am 56, and never had problems with my weight.
I just started watching your videos a few weeks ago and WOW, you're an answer to my prayers. I was on the outskirts of insulin resistance and was having a hard time losing 10 lbs, plus I have been dealing with hypoglycemia. I began to put the diet in place and reduced fat (where I was instructed to increase fat for my hypoglycemia). I also added back a few healthy grains and I have already lost 3.5 lbs and my blood sugar is getting more stable. The Carb Manger App is incredible! I was using a different one, but this one is amazing! Thank you for taking the time to give the RIGHT information to bring healing. I pray the Lord Jesus bless you immensely!

At 70, I answered "yes" to 8 items from Dr Bikman's list!
As a type two diabetic for over twenty years, nine months ago I started gradually reducing carbs and corresponding insulin therapy. I have lost 10% of body mass and cut out insulin shots completely. Also just started wearing a CGM to better understand the impact of different foods and activities. After just one month my glucose levels are now over 90% "in range" (4.5 - 9.0 mmol/l or 81 - 162 in US speak). I also walk at least 10km per day in the lovely South African sunshine! Next step is to start reducing oral medication. Thank you for keeping me informed. What is often not mentioned is that my mental health has also improved.

Thanks for video! It's really important to tell people they can reverse type 2 diabetes by eating low carb diet. My a1c was 14.5 when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and it went to 5.1 after only 4 months of eating low carb and doing intermittent fasting, and I could stop taking my medications.

Net carbs for me did not get rid of type 2 diabetes...i had to count total carbs snd down to 10g or less a day. Zero fruit, zero sigar (even substitute sugars), zero grains, potatoes etc. A1c was 9.5 two yrs ago, now between 4.9-5.2 . But ...even one breaddstick will still spike my bg.

I have insulin resistance/pre-diabetes, I'm also very active and only 5-10 lbs overweight, and I found if I reduce my net carbs below 100-150 I immediately have insomnia. So, I switched to eating about 200 g net carbs and doing daily intermittent fasting, currently at 14 fasting 10 eating hours and working up to 16-8 with fasting through the morning hours, and my sleep improved right away. We'll see what this approach does to my BS and insulin values, but sleeping is non-negotiable, and it feels like I'm able to keep my stress and cortisol levels in check with this approach.

I do under 20, often 10 plus intermittent fasting. My Trigl/HDL is .86 so I'd say mine is well controlled but I constantly work at it, have been at this four years now. My BMI is under 23, I have excess skin (in my 70s) from losing 75 pounds but not excess fat.

I'm new to the low-carb lifestyle, after getting an A1C result of 5.8 two months ago. I've slashed my glucose/carb intake in half, so fingers crossed. My real question is how to stop losing weight, as I was on the thin side when I started and am borderline underweight now. I'm eating more, but it's the right kinds of foods.

I am thin any my A1C was 6.2 on my last labs. It is very difficult to try and eat low carb and not lose weight.

HUGE Question?: I have noticed the second meal effect. If you don’t use carbs in your meals your body has much larger spikes after fasting if you do add even a small amount of carbs in a meal …. Like: one meal no carbs, next meal no carbs, next meal no carbs, next meal slight carb…. High spike!….. If you however eat a meal with a small amount of carbs, then eat a meal with small amount of carb and the next meal with small amount of carbs…… less of a severe spike on the second and third meal. Is it then true that low carb meals will lead to worsening insulin resistance? What about the new research coming out that suggests that if going low carb, there may be more insulin resistance? Please clarify this topic.

I am 70 now. I started Keto 1.5 years ago and dropped from 325 pounds to 240 in 1 year. 85 pounds yes. I need to down 20 more pounds but hit a brick wall which I now identify as IR. The liver shut off the ketosis. Now I am struggling to get back to ketosis. It’s like my body quit. So I am shuffling around to see what was working but Is not anymore.

Dr.Morgan Nolte, Thanks for this reminder to cut carbohydrates so that I will be less Insulin resistant. I try to eat the occasional orange and a few lumps of vegetables for that much needed fiber but the most satisfying part of my diet is eating lots of chicken, beef and fish. When I get too lazy for my OMAD, there is always a single can of Sardines which is too filling for me. I try to eat around 10Am or 4 pm. But usually miss my breakfast if I am too lazy..That is why I am mainly OMAD, either mornings or afternoons. October is my big day for a further checkup. I hope to reduce my weight to 70 kg..Now 85 kg. BMI=28. I will strive to be as skinny as a rake. 😢 I will strive to lower my cholesterol through weight loss..

Hi Dr. Nolte. I have Type 2 Diabetes & I'm "underweight" . I'm currently taking Metformin (Hydrochloride) 1000MG 2X daily.
Any advice & suggestion is greatly appreciated.

I understand I should be Keto, PCOS, but I HATE it. I feel so terrible, even after several days. Also, I can't sleep on it and it makes me VERY depressed. Certainly, there could be another way slightly less strict to improve my health. Keto is too extreme and unsavory for me.

Hi just being diagnosed with type 2. Am 5.11foot and weight around 10 stone and very active due to my job. Being new am ngl am scared of doing bad diet but the thing is ive cut out carbs (keto diet) but i need energy. In fact i might even need to gain a little weight. Am literally on the border of type 2, no meds or insulin. Anyone get any ideas on how many carbs i can eat.I no eating high fiber food can help slow down the sugar levels. I have no symptoms just high blood sugar that hover around the 7.3 mark.

What if you're thin and have low bmi? I would like to gain some kilos but at the same time, I think I may be insulin resistant and I want to optimize my fertility (in early 40s and trying to conceive for a few years). But I'm afraid that if I lower my carbs, I will lose weight. So how to eat low carb but not lose weight (rather, even gain some weight).
