Do you like to use braided line on spinning reels?

I switched to braided line with a fluorocarbon leader and it's the best decision I've made. It casts easily and never gets tangled like mono.

I use braided 6 pound test for crappie for casting distance using a 1/64 jig

Excellent presentation! I’ve fished my whole life with mono… 4 lb ultra thin mono for jigging…. 6 lb for rigging… I fish 100% for walleyes.. generally under 15 feet.. so I have a tough time changing

I've known about the advantages of braid forever, but I still used mono on my spinning gear. I fish ultralight and light and felt the stretch gave extra leeway fighting a fish. Now I see that I have been missing out on increasing my catches by using a more sensitive line. Convinced!

I use 15 Lb Power Pro to a fluorocarbon or mono leader on my spinning gear. Good advice Nathan.

Love your videos, very helpful!
A question for you, I read that you use a 15 fluorocarbon leader on your spinning reel, which means your knot joining the fluoro leader to the mainline braid is going into your spinning reel, does that cause the knot to prematurely wear or break?

Can I use just just braid to cast braid?

You do not like low vis green?
I just added to a new reel for Steelhead. Should I change?

Even with mono backing under the braid main line and a leader, it’s still pretty sensitive? I’m sure braid to leader is but the backing itself doesn’t take away from sensitivity?

How long of a leader would you suggest for trout fishing? I love flurocarbon for clear trout streams so I'm nervous about going too short for a leader.

So what weight braid? What knot do you use? How do you back it on the spool?

Can you use the spray stuff to coat braid like line minder? It says it’s ok but I’m not sure thanks in advance for your reply

I switched to braid, manually close bail and still get wind knots.
Too much frustration.
If you fishing for crappie, just use 4lb mono, line memory is not as bad on thinner mono lines.
