Why should you use VPN on your smartphone? Because this video is sponsored by a specific VPN app and I have to convince you to use it. :)

How are they offering a decent VPN free & unlimited? How are they making money? Every good VPN I've used has either had a data limit or been paid, this is impressive.

Lots of things that haven't been covered here (also seems like a commercial for Opera VPN)

You really, REALLY dont want to use a free VPN server. The VPN server uptime, management, setup and equipment, and the bandwidth (GB's sent and received from the server) all have to be paid for, so they may sell your browsing habits to advertisers, along with other tactics to subsidise the VPN server. They will also want to make it profitable, as the people who set it up need money as much as we do.

Most web traffic is already encrypted already on the internet, especially search engines and anything including financial transactions. Still, using a paid VPN is a much better idea. This is because you are actually paying towards the server, the uptime and keeping it online, along with the wages of those who set it up. It will also mean there are two layers of encryption, one provided by the VPN and one by the website. The most important thing to remember is there is no such thing as a free lunch.

When you choose a VPN, you want to know what it also doesn't secure as well as what it is securing. Your connection to the VPN may be secure, but what about once the traffic has been decrypted on that server? Is that VPN server secure? What about the ISP that the VPN server is using? Are the VPN servers keeping logs? (and are they lying about not doing so?).

I download a lot, both torrent-based and regular download. The downside in downloading contents online is that you are potentially at risk esp. if you download on torrent websites (w/c you can be traced back easily, SO EASILY!) Back early 2013 I was hacked anonymously and all my data on my computer was erased. Fortunately I am not doing any banking transactions online so I dont have to worry about my money in the bank. Ever since then I used VPN to mask my IP address to those prying eyes.

Don't know if you knew, but back only 5-7 years ago, Opera had a *whooping* ~80% level of coverage in Russia. It was The browser of choice. Tabs, VPN, services, everything - it was better than anything in the competition.
Then... Something happened. I don't know. It just went bad. Even I stopped using it after they lost half of the useful tricks and started lagging behind, and now they have, like, 4 percent, I believe.
My point is that I have a lot of fondness towards Opera and I'm really glad that they are making new stuff and are actually still kicking. Installed the Opera on the phone, will give it another try, and maybe even install on my PC and check it out. Thanks!

YEAH, I am now using the Opera VPN. It really works!
I cannot watch this YouTube video as it is an 'AD' and even cannot write a comment here now. Cool.

That's why I always prefer to use a VPN on my smartphone. Using PureVPN for quite a long time and satisfied with its service.
