Great tips! I noticed in your interview with Teaching ESL Online that you have done a lot of research about teaching online. Would you be willing to share some tips?

Pimsleur's American English accent for fluent ESL speakers.

Talking about shadowing to learn a language is an excellent idea. It's the same concept used by the Pimsleur method. I had used this method to learn Spanish. Now when I speak the little Spanish that I know, I get more complements than I deserve because a lot of Mexicans say I speak it with an excellent accent.

However, I don't get the same complement with my English, which I actually speak much better. 😪

I've been looking for an audio recording of an American English accent that uses the pimsluer shadowing approach to teach American English accent for non native speakers who want to improve their intonations and accent.

What I find instead is Pimsleur Engish for Spanish/Italian speakers who are just starting to learn how to speak the language.

If you can read a chapter of a popular book such as "The old man and the Sea." by Hemingway, and add enough pauses between sentence like they do in the Pimsleur method. I'll be the first to purchase it. I've had to use an audio software to add pauses in audio books but it's time consuming.

You will title it "Pimsleur's American English accent for fluent ESL speakers" and it will still like hot cake. I'll be the first to buy it.

I want to know about the words we skip while signing like for an example in the song "without me", Its "Found you when your heart was broke" but while singing we skip the "was".
So I always have problem while singing, what word I should pronounce or not. Can you help me in this, please?

Hi Vanessa, thank you again for your precious pieces of advices. Can you tell us where we are likely to hear people speaking with the same accent as you? Is it the standard New-York accent? I didn't know the expression "shadowing", and I also noticed you begin all your topic with "Let's get started", I didn't know we could say that either. I would probably say "let's start" but maybe it would feel less natural for a native speaker. If I may add one tip, I would recommend to listen a lot so that you have already the prononciation in your mind even without having to speak out loud. For instance I can remember the old Rose saying "Titanic was called the ship of dreams and it was. Although it was probably the british accent, but is the difference always noticeable between american and british accent? Sorry I ask too many questions ^^

Great lesson with amazing tips. You are really impressive. Thank You.
I ve noticed that I have some difficulty saying for example: She hold her head with her hands, I had to say that once when I was talking to someone and the words got in the way.
I also, eventually say SHE instead HE. Actually I am better on it now but still making that mistake once in a while. is it common? I mean making confusion between he and she?

I have a hard time with the a sound sometimes, it's really hard for me to distinguish the 'e' as in mentions and the 'a' as in mansions
