Well done guys, they are almost lost artforms nowadays. I taught myself, and now passing it on to friends and family. Makes driving a manual so much fun. Plus you'll drive much smoother and quicker. Rev matching and heel toe have become muscle memory by now.

for the heel n toe technique: I drive an mini r50 and I learned somehow to heel n toe just by combining rev matching and cornering. And I can absolutely confirm that the R series from mini are very suitable and easy to learn in.

I could never heal a toe but I watched a pov video of some famous racer idk maybe his name was senna or something like that and the way he did it was he used the left side of his foot on the break and right side of his foot for the gas to “heal and toe”. This works really well especially in BMWs as the break and gas pedal are in a perfect position. When I tried this way I got it almost instantly. Anyone struggling should try this way.

Man. Watching this video makes me miss driving a manual. The last time I drove a manual was in 2019. Seems like many many many years ago!
And I live how you mentioned that you cannot heel-and-toe in every car. It is so true. Every commenter in other videos talk about heel-and-toeing like they do it daily in every car. Some cars, especially those with a hanging accelerator pedal and not an organ type pedal, make it really difficult. I learnt to heel-and-toe later on since most of the cars I had early on had the hanging type pedal. It wasn't until I got one with an organ type pedal that I learnt it.

So great to see a how to video to make us all better drivers. The rev matching reminds me of double clutching, where you put the car in neutral and tap the gas pedal then put the car in a lower gear and then let off the clutch again.

Rev matching when shifting down increases the ENGINE side of the clutch to match the Transmission side of the the clutch, with will increase greatly by shifting down. When we match the revs correctly with a blip on the throttle the engine side of the clutch matches that of the transmission side, and when they are engaged by letting the clutch pedal out, they are at the same rev. This decreases the clutch wear dramatically.
I learned to match revs on a motorcycle at a young age, where one did not have to heal-toe, as the blip was at the right hand. One can practice rev matching in a car by setting the gear to neutral while stopped, depress the brake, and without letting off the brake, blip the throttle to about 75% of the redline. Have fun!

Guys thank you for this video! My problem with heel toe shifting is that the break pedal is to high so it is virtually impossible to do it but in the next car I will definetly try it out. Also, I love this video versatility you should do it more often ;)
