Oculus Quest VS PC - Graphics side-by-side Comparison - Apex Construct

HERE is my comparison Between the Oculus Quest and the PC VR versions of Apex Construct. Is it a real downgrade? What are the capabilities of this new Standalone Virtual Reality Headset?

I guess the best way to describe it would be "this is the price you pay for freedom of movement." It honestly is a price I'm willing to pay for ease of access and movement.

I'm really impressed by how the game performs on the Quest! We are not going to have many big PC VR games in here, but I think that this one is a great benchmark for what some devs will be able to bring us! What game would you like to see on the quest from PCVR, being realistic :) ??

To everyone who says the quest doesnt look that good:
Every vr game always looks better in the actual thing. If you're actually playing it, it will look a lot better!

What you have when you're in the headset is essentially the same experience. Some details like shadows or more textured surfaces were definitely sacrificed, but when you're immersed in the game, you don't really notice or even care anymore. PLUS, you have absolute freedom in the Quest with no cables, making the experience SO much more immersive! The Quest is like PSVR (except without cables and better tracking). The visuals are downgraded from PCVR systems, but you're still getting an amazing interactive experience.

For people who are hesitant about what a portable VR port from a PC game is going to look like, use the Switch as a reference.

I'm going to get this because I work 2 jobs and I usually don't have the time to unplug 20 cords from my main PC, drag it into my living room, set up my Vive, game, and then put everything back afterwords.
I want something I can pick up, pop on, and go. Also being able to take it to a friend's house on my days off is a big pro.

However, when I do have a lot of time and feel like doing high-fidelity VR, I will definitely get an Index for that.

Really nice job syncing up the gameplay here. It really helps highlight the large differences, and simultaneously the care taken to ensure the Quest version is as good as can be.

Congrats with the 10k! I'm impressed with the Quest tbh. It performs very well for a standalone VR. My go-to one will still be the Valve Index, but I do like the idea of not being tethered.

Awesome, there are quite a few scenes where I can't even tell the difference. The Quest is truly one amazing piece of mobile hardware. The next generation of this hardware is gonna be insane.

I'm super impressed by what the Quest is capable of. This side-by-side comparison honestly show-marked some of what I personally thought the Quest looked even better at producing as far as graphics go. At 5:45 and 6:34. I honestly prefer the Quest graphics over the PC. Just imho.

In comparison it looks so much worse than the Rift version but... so much better than I expected, so hell yeah! <3
