The low GPU memory warning is a known bug in HL Alyx and comes up when using DX11. If you switch to the Vulcan API, restart, switch back to DX11 it will go away.

thank you SO much bro, when i was connecting to my PC with cable it was flickering horribly in the bright areas, the framerate setting on the desktop app fixed it 100% moving from a rift s to the quest 3 is a big jump holy

with a 3090 you can max the render resolution easily on the quest. Your problem might have been either that you also had it boosted through steam vr (Make sure its at 1.0 through steam vr and only maxed through metas software.) or your router. Do you have a dedicated router exclusively for airlink? Did you optimize the settings? Is it 5ghz? wifi6, 6e etc?

when doing the comparison, is your desktop output set to only the VR headset or is it reflecting/extending the output on your PC's monitor as well?
Theoretically, using multiple outputs can severely diminish, even divide your GPU's usable "bandwidth" in non-dedicated VR headsets.

So i have tested my setup 2 times so far. i use virtual desktop and i run the quest 3 through the prismxr bridge which is plugged directly into the pc and no internet going through that only the signal from the quest 3. so far its doing well and that includes running obs for recording. i have an older i9 9900k and a 4070ti. i did see a hickup in Ultra so i dropped it to Hi on VDesktop, that seemed to help a lot. Still tweaking my settings though to get it just right. I do miss the ease of my index and running a cable which was much simpler but the clarity of this headset is just too good. Great video

Thanks for the direct link to the Oculus PC App! For some reason, Meta deleted the section from their website, and it was impossible to find it through their menu, without bumping into a "404 not found" page. 👍

i'm thinking about getting a Quest 3 sometime in the future, and I plan to use PCVR pretty much everyday. Would you personally recommend a link cable or virtual desktop? I plan to use the Quest 3 for casual gaming, recording, and streaming -- but I also would like the best graphics and lowest latency despite the GPU drain. I also have a pully system in my room. I tried both and cabled is for sure the way to go. In half-life alyx maxed out settings and it runs buttery smooth 4080 rtx

Honestly when i tested out airlink with the quest3 there was a lot of lag so it is better to use a link cable as the connection is more stable.

I just have a 5ghz router and tried airlink, it seems not to bad most of the time, but faster moving games like beatsaber tend to get choppy sometimes then go faster to catch up. Think virtual desktop will help this a bit? or will i have to get a 6e router

I have oculus app running on my Pc but my headset can’t find it so I can’t get the code in either air linking or cable. It only gives me a notification saying if I want to see file. But not ‘ Pair’ it there something I can do? Do I need a better pc or monitor?

Is there a virtual environment home screen that you can go into while connected to your pc other than that grey grid like home environment? My Rift CV1 which was for PC wired use only had a really cool home environment by default.
