PlayStation VR2 is the successor to the original PlayStation VR headset and is designed to work with the PlayStation 5 console. It features an improved resolution, wider field of view, and better tracking, as well as a new controller with enhanced haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The headset also includes features like eye-tracking and foveated rendering for improved graphics and performance. On the other hand, the Meta Quest 2 is a standalone virtual reality headset that doesn't require a PC or console to operate. It features a high-resolution display, six degrees of freedom tracking, and a comfortable design. The Meta Quest 2 also includes hand-tracking and supports a wide range of games and applications from the Oculus Store.

I think it's a HUGE bummer the PSVR2 isn't backwards compatible with original PSVR games. What do you think?

I give Sony some serious credit for not only sticking with VR but also for the vast improvements they continue to make. It’s not perfect but I believe it’s only going to get better and I’m glad they haven’t abandoned VR

To have GT7 fully playable in VR at launch is insane. GT7 gives me hope that Sony will bring the games and system sellers to VR2. Time will tell.

I love that you show the visuals of how it actually looks inside the headset

The amount of gaming history this man has is seriously impressive.

Astro Bot: Rescue Mission should've been a launch title. Maybe even bundled with the system for free.
That game was amazing on psvr1.
Wipeout needs to happen also.

Appreciate the unbiased pros and cons. Personally, I'm in love with my PSVR 2, can't wait for Switchback to release in a couple weeks!

GT7 in VR is the sole reason I want this thing lol

Also the head vibration really works in Village! Can't wait for Switchback to release.

The back compat issue is due to the controller differences.

Sony had stated this in a release a while back.

They also said it would be up to the Devs on whether they would convert it to work on psvr2.

Saw you at MWGC. You looked good brother!! Was good to hear your motion sickness in GT7 is absent and liked hearing your enthusiasm for that game in particular.

I just noticed that Scott in the video here are playing GT7 with the analogue sticks. Pro tip: DON'T! It's immersion breaking. Use the motion control and use the controller like a steering wheel. Works VERY well. Completely changed my enjoyment of the game. Will hold anyone over until inevitably getting a streering wheel...

One other thing I really like about the Quest 2 is the internal speakers. They are really underrated. It’s really amazing how well rounded the audio is for not having earbuds in your ears. I like the fact I can still have conversations with people in the room while I’m in VR and if I want a more immersive experience then I can just plug in a pair of earbuds or headphones.

The thing I noticed with the PS VR2 is if it’s not tracking your hand or are you get stopped in the middle of the game because some weird thing displays on it’s usually because you don’t have enough light in the room. It makes a huge difference when you have lots of lights in the room, so turning on your ceiling lights or lamps, maybe opening a window that will all help.

The resolution and tracking/smoothness is impressive. Have to agree that the lack of backwards compatibility is a bit of minus but such is technology evolution

I love my quest 2. I use it stand alone probably 90% of the time. When I really want to push it I connect it to my pc which is super seamless and easy! Great video. Cheers!

Problem with Quest is it’s on a mobile chipset. Quest has really been holding VR back in terms of big experiences, not that it doesn’t have some neat stuff, but it’s just not capable of blockbuster games, without being tethered to a PC. PSVR2 will hopefully bring the AAA VR experiences back.

I have several VR headsets. PSVR, PSVR2, Quest2 and Reverb G2 and I can tell you that the PSVR2 will be my daily driver. Even with my strong computer I have problems to get a good performence in the VR headset. The Quest2 stays my headset for sport games though. For normal games the Quest2 graphics is just to bad. I'm not happy that the PSVR1 games will not run on PSVR2 but I also understand it because the tracking is totally different.
