There's definitely a drop in quality there, but for me personally? Totally worth it for wireless, battery powered gameplay without a dedicated PC. They've done an amazing job with the Quest.

The quest defiantly doesn't look very good in comparison but the technology sure is impressive.

Downgrade is very obvious, but let's be honest, it's still gonna be a blast to play. Even moreso without cords.

youtube videos don't do justice compare to how it plays and looks once you actually use it yourself. it exceeded my expectations and i'm still blown away.

if this is how the graphics look for a game as demanding as this, then i have high hopes for the quest

Honestly it looks better than I had expected after all the talk about it. The details missing really don’t seem to decrease much of the gameplay which is what matters most. Great video!

This was a fantastic job! I am sure it takes a lot of preplanning to do the same moves each time during a frantic game like RR. Good work fine sir.

It's remarkable for a tiny computer.

The gameplay will be excellent and it'll look fantastic in VR.

Great job

Since all they really changed was the glossy finishes to satin and a very few minor details that nobody would miss I'm very happy with my quest.

For what they had to work with, they did an excellent job prioritizing smoothness and preserving gameplay it seems. Unfortunate that the textures had to be reduced so much, but that was to be expected.

Thanks for doing all these great comparison videos. A lot of reviewers talk for 10 minutes and only show some footage from CES.
Stand alone reviews are important, but seeing them side by side like this is the only real way to compare the graphical fidelity.

Wow it's pretty good... The game still looks like the game even without a PC... Another 2 years or so and we'll be playing the "PC version" on version 2 of the Quest for sure lol!

I love RoboRecall, I just today got to over 90% completion amount. But the graphics downgrade is huge on this. It's like a PS2 game compared to a PS3 game. Carmack stated the quest would be comparable to a 360 in graphics terms, so I think there's some power to unlock here if that's true.
It's the lack of reflections and character shadowing that really kills the look for me.
The gameplay looks good, but I'm not going to give up my Rift to switch to quest, even for the wireless play.
