Epoxy is useful for making knots and voids in your wood either disappear into the grain or for standing out with a pop of color! The epoxy resin is easily mixed with many additives like pigments, sawdust, and fillers giving you a wide variety of options. You wouldn't want to use a wood filler on knots or larger gaps because you would lose the natural colors of the knots and bring attention to your filled area. When you use epoxy to fill these voids, you can hide or enhance a knot and, when sanded smooth, you will have a hard time finding your epoxy filled area! Using tinted epoxy can provide a fun burst of color in your project leaving you with endless possibilities for fun and beautiful result for your projects.
