In this video we take a look at how you can manually refresh the Lets Encrypt SSL certificate being used by your Synology NAS. While your NAS should automatically renew your Lets Encrypt certificate every three months. There are certain scenarios, were you may find that your Synology NAS is unable to update its SSL certificate.

I bought a new NAS and now want to use my existing certificate, but when trying to set this in DDNS it fails with "This hostname is already used".
How can I reuse my old certificate?

I added a DDNS using my synology account which automatically created a certificate. However, I couldn't access it remotely so I tried to use a domain from another provider. It works but my certificate is still from the initial Synology hostname. I tried replacing the old one but my NAS said that it failed to connect to Let's Encrypt and to make sure that the domain name is valid, even though I'm able to use the hostname to connect to my NAS outside of my home network already.
