Synology NAS Tip - How to add The Movie Database plug-in to Video Station

With the introduction of Disk Station Manager 7, Video Station will no longer automatically pull content poster art and meta data. Instead you now need to create an API and add it to a Video Station plugin. So in this video, we you walk through the step for adding The Movie Database API into Video Station.

As Video Station will not automatically update its existing content, we also demonstrate a method that will allow you to quickly add meta data to existing content in Video Station.

YOU CAN INDEX ALL FILES VIA VIDEO STATION SETTINGS.

VIDEOSTATIO>SETTINGS>LIBRARY

1: SELECT THE FOLDER WITH YOUR FILES YOU WANT TO GET THE META DATA FOR.
2: FIND THE BUTTON ALONG THE TOP THAT SAYS ''SEARCH ALL VIDEO INFO AGAIN.'(HOVER OVER THE BUTTONS FOR DECRIPTIONS)

it will take some time if you have a lot of files.

WARNING TO THOSE WHO HAVE FILES WITH WRONG DESCRIPTIONS, SAY FOR INSTANCE TV SHOWS, ONE SEASON MAY COME UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME. THATS WHEN YOU FOLLOW THE VIDEO STEPS TO INDEVIDUALLY CHANGE THE DATA.

I managed to index all my files relatively quickly by moving the folder and then moving it back. Worked a treat!

How long does it take to index? The connection status is successful, file name is as recommended, but an hour has passed and indexing is still in progress. For the test, I indicated a folder where there are only 12 films

None of my TV series are having the video info downloaded. Works fine for movies. Any idea why this is happening?

At my Video Station/DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 4, the option "Search from video info plugin" doesn't exist...what can I do? All my API is verified and correct connection.

I have in my network 4 Synologys, three running DSM 6 and a new one that installed DSM 7.

I can log onto the 3 running DSM 6 from 2 Windows 7 PCs & 2 Windows 10 PCs.

I can log onto the new DSM 7 Synology from both Windows 7 PCs, as well as various tablets.

But have been unable to log onto the DSM 7 Synology from either Windows 10 machines. Keeps saying password is wrong.

SMB is properly enabled on all 4 Synologys.

Any idea why I can't log onto the DSM 7 Synology from Windows 10?

every time i update movie informations, 2 days later everything is gone, lot of work for nothing. Since DSM7 it's a mess, i can't organize my library

I really wonder why would they need my home address (not network) and my phone number for a video info search? This is ridiculous. Every damn thing these days wants insane amounts of personal information and access to your devices to operate.
