When it’s a hospital I usually tell them to come down lol I’ve never gone inside

You do not have to deliver inside of hospitals. We are not required. Hospitals are an exception to delivering to any other type of facility. I cite for personal health and safety reasons and that is non-negotiable. I personally value my health over money for a delivery so no I’m not risking my health and unfortunately you don’t truly know what type of drop off or where it’s going to be until after you confirmed the pickup.

Communicate with the customer before your arrival to meet you at the front entrance or wherever it’s convenient and easy outside of the building, or if they are unable to do so because they are a patient in a room then encourage them to have a nurse assist them and meet you. I am calm, polite, and communicate with them that I will patiently wait for them. That’s how that works.

Only once did I have to contact Uber support because meeting with them wasn’t working out and I was re-routed to return the food with full pay.

Hope that helps someone!

My big thing here in Vegas at the moment is the complete inverse of every other thing I do during the year: super Platinum (80%+ AR) + Earn By Time.

Until the college kids go back to school and the teachers do the same, the saturation of drivers here is insane.

Instead of fighting for DD shop and delivers and catering orders, the EBT game has served me incredibly well. Regularly averaging $20+/hour and I think that because I am Platinum, I’m seeing much higher tip rates than normal EBT (80%+ orders have a tip). Plus, I am now stationing myself near restaurants that I know will always be behind schedule because EBT means every minute delayed is a minute I’m earning cash.

One of my best tips was a catering order to a hospital. It was a front desk drop off. $55 tip. Then the next day I get a text saying that $15 extra got added. Wish that happened more often.

The only hospital orders I like are orders where they tell you to leave it at front desk at the emergency room entrance or any entrance with a front desk. I'm not riding the elevator up to someone's room. I've had some where they tell me to call or text when I arrive and those can be a pain waiting for the customer to come down. 🙄🙃

The hospital that I deliver to is always going to nurses. When I was delivering Crumbl Cookies you would not believe how many people stated that their name was so-and-so just to get the cookies.

Try delivering at the Mayo Clinic here in Arizona.... insanity.. but honestly for the most part they have me leave order at front desk, but not always lol

A lot of these shifts you're not even getting to $20/hr. A few years ago $30+/hr shifts were common. You wouldn't accept that much of a paycut from a W-2, why do many accept it with gig work?

In my city Kalamazoo, MI we have two hospitals at both of them we deliver to dropoff points I have never delivered to a room at a hospital. Also here we get good size trip radar orders on uber.

FYI, on the UberEats app, it's only an exclusive order when "Exclusive" is in the same bright green color as "Delivery". It will always say exclusive next to the word delivery though.

i think it would help if u had your city in your intro, so every video would make your location clear to everyone

One of the hospitals I deliver to has a spot in the main lobby where all food orders are placed, another hospital I deliver too, I always have to text the person which section of the hospital you are in so I can walk and meet them outside

Lucky when I deliver to hospitals it’s either front desk reception or someone meets me in the lobby.

The benefits I have working in a smaller city is that it’s never as busy as the big cities.

The only thing I hate about driving for Uber eats is if they send you a low cost delivery from that customer you will be locked in with that customer for other deliveries from the same restaurant at the same low price..

None of the hospitals in my area let Dashers go up to the rooms. Either the customer has to meet outside in the (un)loading area, or they have a delivery table in the lobby to leave the order. Makes hospital orders in my area easy, don’t think I’d take them if I had to go to the patient’s room.

Seems like it would be confusing with so many apps open getting multiple offers simultaneously then choosing one or maybe a stack, which are stressful to me, then pausing everything. I just like doing straight Uber rides with the Uber Eats option on if I’m trying to finish a quest.
