Killing it at these reactions! One of the few regular videos I look forward to. Keep it up!

Azula doesn’t follow anime rules. She wasn’t waiting for no transformation

Azula is a straight menace. She strolled in after beating the Kyoshi warriors, overthrew the city and took over their military, eliminated the other leaders, manipulated Zuko, didn't hesitate and let the "Protagonist powers up for several minutes" trope happen, AND she ended up on top while the heroes ended this season with a major loss. That girl knows how to manipulate people. "You were never even a player". Absolutely fantastic character.

The lightning hit his back, then went out of his foot because the negatively charged lightning is attracted to the positively charged ground

Despite the fact that I've re-watched this show many times, I still can't help myself feeling disappointed at Zuko every single time. Now imagine how Iroh actually felt here.

Still feel bad for Zuko too though. He endured a tough life.

This finale was basically 'The Empire Strikes Back' of Avatar... Also I love that y'all drop 4 episodes a week!

The irony of Katara shouting, “Let me go!” In Aang’s vision of her on the rainbow bridge… when that’s exactly what he’s supposed to be doing, and he does the exact opposite.

It's no surprise Zuko turned back to the Fire Nation. He's an abused child. It's very common for the abused to cling to or go back to abusive relationships. And, that short lived "new" happy Zuko was just Zuko switching from what he thought he should be for his father to what he thought he should be for his uncle. It didn't last because it was just another mask. He threw away one mask and put on another.
People question whether Aang was dead or just severely injured. He was dead. There are a couple of levels of medical death.
Clinical death is where your heart and/or breathing stops. You might still have time to resuscitate someone (CPR and ACLS) as your brain is still living on oxygen and nutrients already in your system. But, if nothing is done you move on to biological death. That is brain death. There is no coming back from brain death. ☠️

I think Guru Patik didn't mean Aang should forget or stop loving Katara.
He meant he shouldn't be dependent on anything for his personal fulfillment and happiness.
He can love people, but he can't be a controlled avatar if he lost himself to emotions when these attachments break.

So love is ok as a bonus, but you can't be dependent on such attachments for you to function as a person.
You have to be 100% functional all on your own.

For example here, saving Katara isn't a problem, but being so emotionally attached that you run to save her instead of staying calm, opening the last chakra quickly and THEN going to save her, that is a bad decision driven by emotional attachment.
THAT is the kind of attachment the Guru wanted Aang to get rid of, the kind that makes you make bad decisions and become unbalanced.
I mean, it literally would've just taken 10 more seconds to get it done and then save her in a much more competent and powerful state.

One thing the show does really well (among others) is showing the dependency that victims of abuse have on their abuser. You see this play out in real life so many times too, and many times people will just be like "well why don't they leave", but it's a lot more complicated than that.

I think it's crazy that all this wouldn't have happened if the gang stuck around to see the Kyoshi Warriors before leaving instead of just confidently waving them through. Also, I believe "happy" Zuko was a mask. He came to the realization that he would in all likelyhood never have the destiny he wanted, his life ambition was cut short and not on his terms. Instead of wallowing, he just decided to make the most of the situation, smile and pretend to be happy for Iroh and himself until it becomes genuine happiness. But Azula dangled that carrot before he had a chance to fully close that chapter in his life.

Lightning needs an exit point, thats why his footed is shot too. She hit his back, it went out his foot

I love how Iroh and Azula both represent Zuko’s shoulder angel and demon respectively. This was also symbolized in Zuko’s nightmare in the previous episode, where Iroh was the Red Dragon (good) and Azula being the Blue Dragon (bad)
