The key takeaways are:

1. **Acetic Acid is Common in All Vinegars:** Most vinegars, including apple cider, red wine, white, rice, and balsamic, contain similar levels of acetic acid, which contributes to their fat loss benefits by activating AMPK and modulating glucose levels.

2. **Beyond Acetic Acid:** The health benefits of vinegars extend beyond acetic acid to include other compounds like vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, organic acids, and especially polyphenols.

3. **Polyphenols for Fat Loss:** Polyphenols, found in higher concentrations in fruit vinegars, are crucial for their impact on fat loss. Studies suggest that fruit vinegars have significantly higher polyphenols than grain vinegars.

4. **Importance of Vinegar Source and Aging:** The source of the vinegar and whether it is aged in wood are significant factors affecting its properties. Wood-aged vinegars are particularly beneficial.

5. **Antioxidant Profile:** Red grape balsamic vinegar has the highest antioxidant profile, but other vinegars also offer health benefits.

6. **Specific Vinegar Recommendations:** Red or black grape vinegars are highly recommended for their high polyphenol content. Apple cider vinegar and green grape vinegar are also good options.

7. **Unique Vinegar Varieties:** Uncommon vinegars like strawberry and dark chocolate vinegar have even higher levels of polyphenols.

8. **Choosing the Right Vinegar:** When selecting a vinegar for health and fat loss, consider its aging process, source, and polyphenol content. Darker, fruit-based vinegars aged in wood are generally the best choices.

9. **Apple Cider Vinegar's Role:** While apple cider vinegar is effective and popular, exploring other types of vinegars can offer additional health benefits and potentially better support for weight management goals.

Happy new year to everyone

This is great news I love red wine vinegar! I make this every day: Pasture raised eggs, scrambled, cooked gently on low heat with coconut oil. Right before I plate them I add a handful of cilantro, toss it around. Once on the plate, I add clumps of goats milk cheese, and sprinkle red wine vinegar all over. I know it sounds strange, but the flavors really work together!

ACV is argueably the most edible form because it's easily mixed with lemon and water to produce something that is easy to drink daily. I think it's availability and palatability make it the clear choice and is why most people drink it.

An wood aged balsamic vinegar from Italy is literally 1000 times more expensive than ACV. A 6 oz bottle of 10 year old wood aged balsamic was $250.00 at the vineyard in Tuscany.

orange vinegar
In this study, eight kinds of vinegars were prepared. Among them, the highest polyphenol and flavonoid content were orange vinegar and kiwi fruit vinegar, respectively. Ferulic acid, vanillic acid, chlorogenic acid, p-coumaric acid, caffeic acid, catechin, and epicatechin were main polyphenols in eight fruit vinegars.Oct 30, 2023

I like vinegars. I've enjoyed small amounts of apple cider vinegar mixed into various beverages including teas, red wine, and just plain water. It adds a nice tang. I also like to add megadoses of vitamin C powder to beverages to make them taste more sweet and sour, somewhat like lemon depending on the brand.

I had bad digestion problems (constipation especially) until I started to increase my stomach acid levels and since then (about 3 months ago), touch wood, my long-term chronic constipation has gone and much less gas overall. I use varying small amounts of betaine HCL, vitamin C, ACV and cod liver oil.

My degree in biochemistry raises a few questions:
1). Our stomach is full of high strength hydrochloric acid, and the rest of our GI track neutralizes the acidity coming from the stomach. Presumably deactivating the vinegars ingested.
2) our body operates at a very highly controlled Ph, deviations are quickly corrected via our pace of breathing. Literally breathing faster raises the blood’s ph and holding your breath lowers it (more acidic).
I truly believe the popular acidification/alkaline health crazy is profoundly flawed and exploits people looking for health benefits.
The benefits of polyphenols and other organic molecules should be studied, keeping in mind human bodies have been taking care of themselves for thousands of years despite the abuse we inflict on them….
Snake oils and the people that push them deserve scrutiny.

Still sticking to ACV as it is the most common and cheapest in my location but, good to know I might try the grape derivstives and chocolate if I can get one.

Apple cider vinegar is super expensive here in Philippines so I bought a small bottle of the Braggs and dumped 2 liters of 7% red horse beer in it. A month later I had a delicious malt vinegar with live culture. Its been 2 years and many batches and its still cranking, sometimes I put a bit of rum in the mix as well.

I believe if you were to take any of the vinegars mentioned, it would have a very similar effect.
Eating, drinking, thinking, and acting wisely are considerably more important and effective. ACV is just a condiment to be used wisely, also.

Very informative thank you Thomas!
My nutritionist friend told me about Coconut cider vinegar with mother since we live here in the Philippines and I found out it's better than apple cider vinegar when I googled it.

Glad I watched this video because it's the first time I've ever heard of cacao vinegar from you and that's raised my piqued interest because we live along the bean belt and we have raw fermented activated cacao being grown here so I will definitely look into making my own cacao vinegar since no one does that here yet.

Makes perfect sense. But, I don't add two and two when I'm shopping, so it is wonderful to be alerted to these principles. Thank you!

Great Video, thanks again! polyphenols are a fiber used by the mitochondria, helps make strong and healthy mitochondria and when they are healthy you are healthy

Watched one of your other vids on the vinegar and found a site that has both the chocolate balsamic and strawberry vinegar, both are really good. I use in sparkling water for a homemade soda, good on other stuff too, not sure about the sugar but don't have often more of a treat. The balsamic is aged 6years in 30year old oak barrels. They have other delicious vinegars too. Kosterina
