Why does a sip of Coke from a glass bottle taste better than from a can or plastic one?

Fun fact, companies DO in fact change their recipes by one thing when switching to glass, most glass bottled soda contains real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup!
(Which in my opinion tastes SO much better.)

on top of that, humans just have a weird psychological tendency to think that drinks taste better based on how solid the container is

With Coke specifically the glass bottles are made in Mexico, so they use real sugar instead of the cheap stuff they use in America

I thought there was a reason why Plastic Bottled soda tasted different than freshly poured soda. Had no idea that the bottle itself releases chemicals into the drink.

The problem arises in transportation, as glass is a lot more fragile, so companies actually turn away from glass in some countries😢

Glass is also infinitely reusable and infinitely recyclable, unlike plastic.
Plastic can release harmful chemicals into the liquid and degrade over time.
That's why plastic water bottles have an expiration date. Glass does not release chemicals. Plastic can only be recycled a certain amount of times before it becomes useless. Glass can be infinitely recycled because you can melt it and cool it infinitely without it degrading, because glass transition is a reversible process, so glass can be infinitely reshaped and recycled, as long as it is recycled together with the same type of glass (most commonly soda-lime-sillica glass for windowpanes and glass bottles and containers, or borosilicate for cookware, light bulbs and lab flasks because it can withstand high temperature)

I used to live in The Gambia where glass bottle sodas are cheaper than cans & plastic. Man I miss that…

There are actually some sodas where I prefer the slightly diluted taste of a metal can. In particular, Pineapple Fanta and Mr. Pibb.

When I worked for Dollar General, we had a blind taste test with over 150 customers and 12 store employees. Everyone said they preferred glass bottle coke, but the test showed that 92% of the people liked canned coke better.😂

So what your saying is... though they don't change the recipe depending on the container... They should
