Hi, Abhay. Thanks a lot for making these wonderful in-depth videos on G8X. I have few queries regarding the phone and will be really thankful to you, if you could help me with them. 1. I am noticing that with my phone the finger print sensor is not accurate and misses almost 50% of my attempts to unlock the phone, also even when it unlocks, it takes quite a while to unlock the phone (like a 1-1.5 seconds, seems a lot when you have used other methods of unlocking). But, I have a big doubt that the major part of the issue is due to the tempered glass that I am using and not the phone sensor itself, Can you please suggest me a clear, good quality glass protector? 2. There are 2 phone apps in the phone. One by LG (green one) and one by Google (blue one). Which one do you think is the better one to use? 3. In past few weeks since I've got the phone, I have restored the phone for 4-5 times in unsuccessful attempts to restore Whatsapp history from my iPhone. By doing so or due to previous various backups on iCloud as well as Google Drive, I have inadvertently made a lot of clones of contacts. I have merged the contacts, but, there are multiple copies of same things within those merged contacts. Do you have any idea how to remove those extra copies within many of those contacts? Please answer these, if you can. Thanks in advance.

Great phone. The device slowly grows within us. First i disliked the device then I can't think of using any device other than g8x. Yes there are minor bugs. Like the phone for some reason switches off. Dont know why that might be bcz of some software reasons. But camera display call quality everything just top notch. And it is not Chinese. A phone i ll be using for years.

I bought G8x in October 2020 for ₹25000.
2.5 yrs on, it's still working flawlessly.
Got Android 12 update in Jan 2023. I'm fully satisfied. Will keep using it until something breaks or it gets too slow or 5g coverage increases.
There are few flaws here n there, but it's acceptable . No product is perfect. And with time I've gotten used to them so I don't even notice the issues anymore.
For the price I paid, can't ask for more.


Few cons I faced so far -


1. Front camera focus is locked at infinity at hardware level. Unsolvable no matter which app is used.

2. Charging speed is slow, around 2 hrs for full charge.

3. Fingerprint scanner is slow compared to others. But accuracy is very high. I'm not using any screen protector.

4. Amazon prime 1080p issue. This can be solved by installing beta version of Amazon prime. Then 1080p works. In Play Store sign up for beta tester.

5. LG ui doesn't support 3rd party icon packs. So Less customisation. Can be solved by using another launcher.

Now the pros -

1. Looks sexy! No camera bump, flat back. Nice proportions.

2. Fantastic display. 60 hz is low compared to today's standards. But I have not used 90 hz display.so no idea what I am missing.lol🤣

3. Out of the world audio quality through headphones. Speakers are also stereo, although top one has little lower volume.

4. Fantastic back camera. Stock camera app has manual mode as well😍😍

5. LG ui is bug free in general. Also got Android 12 update in Jan 2023.

6. Battery lasts full day easily.

7. Gaming is good. No heating issue. I don't play heavy games anyway.

8. Day to day performance is top notch, no lags anywhere.

9. When it gets dirty, I just wash with water. 😉

10. HDMI out through type c is amazing. I just connect it to my Monitor/tv. Much better than casting.

11. Desktop mode is also nice.

12. Supports wireless charging, reverse charging as well.

13. Dual screen is nice, but I dont use it anymore.

First of all thanks a lot for the clearcut review. Did you observe there was a green tint in AOD?.
Also the display was not that much good as G7 or V40.
Have you observed a little dull or greenish display?

Lg g8x using from Jan, 2020 a phone while stands out of the rest... Amazing battery life... Full day battery, I use it as a mini laptop too for my Excel sheets. And with office it works wonders. Reading newspaper in morning on full screen in both screen is so relaxing... Playing race games with on be screen playing game and other screen using the 🕹️ is bliss... Making notes on one screen while reading on another, . I was thinking that when I have buy a new phone how will a manage with one screen... Would be very tough... This is a AMAZING DEVICE companion
