In this video, Jeremy Cioara covers some of the most-asked questions about Amazon Web Services. This particular segment focuses primarily on how to create an EC2 Amazon Machine Image (AMI). He discusses the various concepts that tie into AMIs, starting with a basic understanding of AWS and EC2.

Jeremy begins with a broad overview of Amazon Web Services, explaining the nature of what AWS offers and the various benefits it can offer a business. He digs deeper into the EC2 concept, discussing elastic computing and its cost-saving advantages. Once he’s established the foundational understanding needed to get to Amazon Machine Images, he digs deep into what they are and the advantages they provide. AMIs are essentially your perfect server: you can install all of the right patches, put together the right software packages, implement the support files you need, and then freeze that harddrive on Amazon. You can then use that server image to generate as many additional servers as you need, bringing us back to the entire purpose of elastic computing.

Thanks Jeremy! That was amazing. Some light on how to bridge the gap b/w Virtual box or other emulation software and EC2 will be great. Like how can I create a AMI from my virtual box and vice versa. :)
Thanks again! You rock
