Your lymphatic system has many functions! They include absorbing digestive tract fats and removing cellular waste, as well as protecting your body from invaders that can cause you to get sick!

Along with mindful manual self massage, regular yoga can be a wonderful tool to help assist the lymphatic system which relies on movement for healthy function.

I started this practice feeling stressed, worried, and burnt out. 😢 During the practice, I realized that I am ok and these things in my life are important but not serious. 😂 Thank you for sharing your time with us. I want to also thank the community! You all restore my faith in humanity ❤

It’s gonna be my fifth year practicing yoga with Adriene. I’m forever grateful and thankful to Adriene, Benji, and the whole YWA team for all the amazing work that they do to help not only me but to the entire community of yogis. I have been doing yoga with Adrienne since last June. I am a lot more flexible. Sometimes I don't want to show up but I always fell better afterwards. The detailed instructions are amazing and have helped me progress faster. I also enjoy your lighthearted approach to yoga and the encouragement that you give to us all. God Bless and keep up the great work.

Build🧱 - April 2024

I build my body based on healthy foundations so that I can flourish.

So lovely to tend to the lymphatic and nervous systems this afternoon. It’s such a wonderful way of taking care of yourself and re-energising not only the physical body but also the cellular and the metaphysical, both equally important layers of our beings. I really enjoyed the initial variation of knocking on heavens door which I took as me patting myself on the back for creating a strong, supported body full of positive energy through my many self-care practices. I've fallen out of a regular practice over the past year or two, but was able to join in today. I teared up at the end when Adriene mentioned feeling gratitude for taking this time for yourself. Hope to be here more often as 2023 closes. Thank you <3

My body was tired and achy this morning so this practice was just what I needed. It feels like I did something good for my body. Now to finish my morning exercises a swim in the pool. Have a great day everyone!

"remember how good your body is at healing"
thank you Adrienne. last year, I did the 30-day breathe series that helped me find tune with myself. it made me feel comfortable in my body and strong. I did that in June 2021. I had a couple of good months after but I went back to uni after covid in 2021 Sept. A lot of things happened at once which I think took be by shock and tested me at all levels. I tried my best going back to yoga but I was just so caught up in my spirals. I was diagnosed with depression, ED and anxiety around Jan 2022. After which, I started meds in Feb 2022 and Therapy thereafter in March 2022. Had 5 sessions of CBT (that was the max offered by school) but since all of these things, my body got very fatigued all the time and weak. I have gained roughly 10kgs and have lost my zest for movement. I begun recovery proper in March - July! July and August was spent writing 6 essays and a dissertation to finish my degree. Slowly, I learnt to read properly, process information, remove mental blocks and learn to change my approach to spirals. I stopped my meds back in September and have been coping well! Even graduated with a first class honours! But now I am focussing my recovery in gaining back my flexibility, physical activity, strength and movement. I have been finding it very difficult to go back to the strength I have. The ongoing stress for over a year has really affected my physical health that I have been finding difficult to heal. Adrienne, you don't know how much that one sentence meant to me today. It brought me down this path of reflection. To not only feel proud of my journey, but to renew the belief I have that I will get better physically too. Thank you for all the love, support and guidance.

These little reminders go a long way! Finding my path back to yoga to heal my body, mind and soul, one breath at a time :)

"remember how good your body is at healing" - this is my return to doing Yoga with Adrienne after a two year break; after I got covid and lymes disease in 2020, my body was so run down that I could no longer exercise without severe repercussions. Even yoga was too taxing for me, and all I could do was take long walks. But now, after lots of time focused on healing my body, I am back at the mat and I am SO EXCITED to get back into stretching with the rest of you! Doing this practice today reminds me that healing is an ever ongoing, forward-moving process!
