Gary Sinise is truly a great man all he does for our nations vets is outstanding and i hope that he will continue his quest to better the lives of veterans and their families to all vets god bless and thank you for your service.

Gary Sinise's Lt. Dan is arguably one of the earliest examples of a mainstream movie that showed a crippled, borderline PTSD victim recover and become a good person again. That fact that over 20 years later people still refer to this speaks volumes of its character.

Respect to Gary Sinise.
The interviewer clearly wanted to talk about the Lt. Dan role.
But he didn't get annoyed about it, he gently embraced it, and still plugged the message that he really wanted to get across.

Gary is such a wonderful influence on Veterans. Being a wife of a Navy Veteran ( USN ) and living with a PTSD husband he's helped me understand it more. Huge influence for me, and our family.

I admired Lt. Dan so much in Forrest Gump :) . He just wanted to serve his country and suddenly he becomes this fragile soul after he lost his legs and became a changed man thanks to Forrest :). I loved Gary Sinise performance so much as Lt. Dan :)

It's amazing to me that a role came into his life that changed his life forever. And he's used that as his platform to help as many as possible. This man is a true patriot, and continues to give and work for our military, and First Responders. Nothing but admiration and love for this special man. There are very few Gary Sinises in his business.

How I wish segments like this exist here in the Philippines where the celebrities will talk about how they contribute to the society and offer help to the viewers instead of just talking about themselves, their relationship status, their next show, etc.
