People always get misconceptions from cat videos thinking that cats can handle themselves against bigger predators.
There's no hospital or rubbing alcohol in the wild; cuts are dangerous, that's why animals are weary around other animals that scratch and that's why cats are intimidating.

But if a dog/coyote is willing to risk it for a meal, cats are NOT going to win that fight. Take care of your pets, people.

This is why you don’t leave your cat out at night. I lived in a city where one night I put out both my lab and my dachshund on lines for them to potty before bedtime. I shortly afterwards heard a commotion. I went to see what was going on and found my dachshund hiding behind my lab who was barking like crazy. In the shadows I saw a large coyote about ten feet away and grabbed up my dachshund. My husband yelled and waved his arms at the coyote who showed no fear so my husband then ran at him. The coyote did not flee until my husband was about a foot from him. I later learned that the coyote probably had others in the dark and was trying to distract my lab so as to get to the small dog. I also found out that coyotes have been known, when in a pack, to kill even rotweilers. The cat was lucky that there was only one coyote.

The cat after that experience was like:

"Man... Of all the 9 lives I have, that one was the wildest one yet" 😂

And this kind of thing is Exactly a major reason why you don't declaw your kitty, REGARDLESS if usually indoor or not!

This is one reason why you shouldn't cut all your trees down. It is a way cats can get away from predators.

it really hits different when you see an animal fighting for its own life, i mean you can see in the cat's eyes that he's literally scared and desperate to get out of that situation🥺

That is why my parents used to build cat shelters outside for all the neighborhood cats needing a place to sleep. Used to get a crazy amount of cats showing up cause it was safe in those shelters
