Those who said teeth extraction is bad they know nothing if your teeth root have no space to move and you force them to move without extraction it may be more dangerous than extraction, it may be bad idea if you have not some severe case like overbite, crowding or overjet so trust you orthodontist .

Some people out here saying that tooth extraction for correcting overbite overjet crossbites etc was a bad idea, its not, but its necessary especially if u have space btwn ur upper teeth and lower teeth, for the people who think pulling out ur teeth was worst, trust ur doc and also trust the process, it takes time, also u should worry only if ur doc has extracted ur teeth without u having severe overcrowding, overjet, overbites or any other orthodontic issues , dont stress urself watching youtube videos, reach out to ur orthodontist and clear ur queries up

I have a bad feeling about premolar extractions in some cases. I’m sure it can be a good treatment with few negative effects for folks with malocclusion closer to the severe side. For those who incontrovertibly need them. But there’s definitely a lot of people who get avoidable extractions and their jaw over-retracted for mild issues and it can show in their facial structure. So many patients are warned of many risks from extraction/retraction, but a change to facial structure is often not one of them. It can be a huge blow to mental health. I’m not sure of the full scope of malocclusion of the patient in this video, but from what I can tell, it seems like that was an overkill treatment for mild crowding. Correct me if I’m wrong, because I’m obviously not a dentist. I also know new techniques can correct issues while preserving teeth if the patient is a candidate. Those options should always be explored first.

Never extract teeth. If you don't have space for all of them that means you need jaw surgery. Pulling teeth out will only make it look better. The space for your tongue is not gonna be enough so you're gonna snore and have trouble breathing

I think the whole premolar extraction problem is very biased. Because the people who got positive results from aren’t gonna come on the internet and complain about their perfect teeth with no change to their face at all. So if you’re someone who’s gonna get their 2 or 4 premolar extracted, don’t worry too much. You’re orthodontic already study about your teeth before they decide to do that. And if you saw any people with dished in mouth after their braces treatment it is likely because they did NOT need to extract their premolar at all, but their orthodontic decided to.

No way to reverse the PER damage. You do not have too many teeth, but underdeveloped jaw. Evolution gave you that set of teeth for a reason. PER have a high chance of causing severe health issues, like tinnitus, neck and jaw pain, breathing problems, sinus problems, TMJD, hair loss because of scalp tension, etc. And reversing the damage is almost impossible, since it is literally amputation. Why risk your life for such idiocracy.

Don’t listen to these comments. It is an echochamber. Just because they have many likes doesn’t mean they are correct. The majority isn’t always right, and again, this is an echochamber.

Just got the same teeth extracted yesterday for braces and now I regret. Some of my friends said it was not necessary

I had 4 premolars and 4 impacted wisdom teeth extracted and currently in braces, but already seeing negative results as in my tounge doesn't fit in my pallet and my face changed for the worst. My gaps are almost closed on the lower side and halfway closed on the upper side, I don't know what should I do?,

If those extractions were made on purpose to correct the teeth, in my opinion, that wasn't the best move. The confirmation are the spaces left between the teeth after were aligned. Some people will use braces just to close those gaps.

Mine also exactly like this but luckily no extraction for me...hopefully the result will be good

In many cases the problem is too narrow arch and not too many teeth! Extracting teeth and narrowing arch even more would lead to problem breathing!

Just expand the pallet size. The same amount of teeth fit inside other people’s mouth so the number of teeth is not the problem here, it’s that your mouth is small.

This is exactly how my teeth look. My two front teeth go inward. I’m hoping it’s all worth it in the end. 😩🙏🏽

Had a massive 9 mm overjet with overbite. Still have that in fact but it’s likely better now almost a month into Invisalign. Original dentists told me to get 4 premolars extracted with jaw surgery to boot; I obviously decided to find a second opinion who just put me up for 1.5 years of retainers. Makes a heck of a lot more sense that way lol. Only very mild crowding on my bottom teeth with huge spaces on my top teeth, why the heck would I need 4 premolars removed???

What if you lose both 1st molar tooth on lower jaw. is it possible to remove the gap with braces??

Their is no need for extraction....If crowding issue and need space then after braces go for IPR

my orthodontist said i have severe overcrowding (i have overlapping teeth, some erupted sideways), overbite, bad crossbite and IOTN is 4d A/C 10, is 4 premolar extraction necessary here? i’m really nervous but to be honest i would rather have straight teeth and potential breathing problems than be bullied for my “fat face and shark teeth” where i’m never confident to smile for the rest of my life..
