NEVER TOO SMALL Waterside Italian Two Bedroom Tiny Apartment - 35sqm/376sqft

Показать описание
Inspired by the tightly designed interiors of sailing boats, llabb architecture converted this 70’s open plan studio apartment into a two bedroom home without expanding its 35sqm footprint. By creating a multi-functional storage unit on the rear wall, llabb was able to compartmentalise the apartment and embed 2 concealed bedrooms stacked on top of each other; while a long wooden strip creates a distinct ‘waterline’ that leads the eye into the living space. Still maintaining a fully featured but compact kitchen, bathroom and dining space, Riviera Cabin contains everything needed for complete and complex living.

The wooden accents that run around the room really make a difference, they tie the whole room together.

I love how the entire apartment really feels like the interior of a ship.

It's amazing how they placed two big beds in that space.

Nautical theming tends to be gaudy and overdone, but this is subtle and well executed.

Finally someone who doesn't use plywood everywhere when building the cabinets.

You know you’re a good architect when you can do this in such an small space 🤩

Ok but why is nobody talking about the bathroom? That circle mirror and the blue tiles! Wow.

I like this. Quoted as being a summer house...this design is perfect.

Many people think of nautical themes as including oceanic colours + seashells, but what we see here is an approach towards the space as a ship's stateroom/bunk, with all the functional nooks and crannies. This is really well executed, so in love 😍

Hats off to the architect, really clever design. One of my favorites I've seen.

I expected to see the living room transform as one of the bedrooms and I am so glad that wasn’t the case! Well done!

The bathroom is surprisingly bigger than I expected (considering the other spaces). Love it!

Finally, a truly small space thoughtfully converted into a functional, calm but not sterile living space. With an actual storage potential and everyday functionality, without compromising the overall beautiful and understated esthetics. And all in, what it looks to be, an affordable manner (Ikea is not a dirty word after all). "Small spaces need to have their complexity", what a perfect final statement. Tells a lot about the conceptual integrity of the architect. Bravo!

Love the angled floating shelves! And I'm amazed at how he was able to fit two bedrooms into the small space.

One of the most beautiful projects that appeared in Never too Small. Equally poetical and functional!

I love the idea of having a “water line” throughout. It somehow makes the space more calming.
