I have been drinking coffee for 6 years. And I have never been able to drink it black. I have always drank iced coffee with so much creamer. So much that my coffee wasn't coffee anymore. Only sweetened milk (my dad's words not mine). My dad said I used too much coffee creamer when I drank coffee. So for the sake of my dad and his creamer, I made a commitment to start drinking my coffee black if I was gonna drink coffee. Of course it was bitter at first. But after watching this video, I started weening away from creamer. And now, on my 2nd week of black coffee. I can drink it black and actually enjoy It. It is a little bitter. But I've come to appreciate that bitterness. because now, i can taste what the actual coffee taste like and not just a bunch of creamer. I think I've made a good decision. I have to say, black coffee is an acquired taste..but once you get used to it, you really appreciate it and really enjoy it. ☕️

I just discovered what cold brew even was & it has entirely changed everything. I don’t have any machines so I just pour coffee & water into a mason jar & leave for 18 hours. Filter & mix with homemade brown sugar syrup.
Simple, cheap & less bitter than brewing in my coffee maker & refrigerator.

Hi Caitlin...This was an interesting video!! For me drinking black coffee was impossible without having cream and sugar. I have tried the Aeropress, OXO, and I have the cheap version (Walmart) Chemax pour over. I think for me living in a small town in the midwest it's hard to find a good brand of coffee beans. The local grocery stores and Walmart have very few selection of coffee beans. e.g. Walmart has one flavor of Starbucks, Duncan Donuts, and Peets everything else is ground and when you can find beans most of the brands are in 2 pound bags which is a disadvantage especially if you aren't sure the flavor will be good. Then you've wasted a lot of money. Trying to find the right grind and water temperature and amount of water to use proves to be a challenge for me.

Inasmuch as I like the idea of drinking black coffee, I realise it makes me hyper. So I can taste it, but if I drink it, especially as strong as I ‘d like it, I will be like that drunk person that wants to make friends with everyone (and I don’t drink!) 😀

I've always liked coffee, black or otherwise. I preferred black mostly but it seemed like I just couldn't find a good tasting cup anymore. For health reasons, I switched to decaf and that made a good tasting cup even harder to find. (aside: I found that freshly brewed decaf at Waffle House was pretty good) I had actually switched to tea. Then I started watching James Hoffman and eventually tried a V60 and, like you Caitlin, it opened the door! Just bought a Flair and am having a blast discovering wonderful new tastes.

I started drinking black coffee because the sugar is bad for you and makes me crash too. I love black coffee especially stronger darker blends

Great video 👍. I have always taken my coffee black, never liked milk or cream. Personally, I use an espresso bean and via the Aeropress I make an Americano (I think!?) when I have the time. I have some of your espresso beans over here in UK and they are 👌. What are your thoughts on this, every time I order an Americano I am asked ‘with milk?’, surely an Americano is always black?? Drives me crazy! 😂

My mom uses an ordinary drip coffee machine. Every time she makes it it’s delicious. Always. She uses bottled water too. I have a mocha pot I’ve had a French press, a coffee drip machine so many things and no matter how I make it or the most expensive coffee that I buy it’s still disgusting. I use bottled water, Still comes out disgusting. Even when I do it exactly like my mom does it with the same exact machine same exact ratio with bottled water, and it still does not taste the same! No matter what I do I can’t make coffee. So I just buy it premade cold coffee at the store either Dunkin or Starbucks, or I just make Starbucks instant coffee. What a sad excuse for a coffee lover!!!!. Lol I NEED HELP!!! Please!!!!
