These are my top 4 picks for tools to buy at Harbor Freight. Now I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest fan of Harbor Freight tools because they are typically lower quality tools and I typically lean to the “Buy Nice or Buy Twice” philosophy. However, there are some great tools that are well made and will last a long time from Harbor Freight. What tools did I miss?

I have a bunch of the aluminum bar clamps. They aren't worth the space they take. I've broken the jaws off so many that I can't trust the remaining. The jaw castings are really poor.

A lesser point is that they aren't very smooth. The track tends to hang up and the latch doesn't always catch. When doing a glue-up I just don't have enough hands for these things to be useful.

I use to think everything HF sells is second grade given their price and overall quality. I have owned several of their welders in the past destroying one and selling two others. I am however comfortable in now stating that their wheels and casters are of more robust quality and durability than similar offerings at 2 to 3 times the price. As in Grainger TS and NT.
