"He gave me the cards in life that I was dealt with me and it's up to me to improve myself and better myself and to trust that he's got me. If He cares for the birds in the sky and He clothes the flowers in the field, who am I to critique how the creator made me." WOW, that's so well put! I love it!!

Love you Ardelle. I am diagnosed with ADHD but currently unable to get medication and it always makes me feel like "if only..." but some of these tips are actually very good and the other ones are great reminders. you always keep it real and honest and humorous and you just make me more at ease with the struggles. thank you so much i hope you're doing well <3

one thing i do when there is something i don't wanna do and I get that well known among adhd people feeling of paralysis is that i tell myself "just 5 minutes, do the thing for 5 minutes and if you still don't wanna do it then you can opt out" and funny enough almost all the time i don't opt out and i finish the task because we all know it is the starting that is so hard for so many of the mundane tasks.

The cadence at which you speak in your videos allows my spinning brain to actually pay attention and learn from your content. Its amazing how that happens.

I started taking medication when I started my career as a teacher, but I was able to make it through 4 years of college without it and 12 years of Primary/Secondary school without it.
Whenever I have a student who's newly diagnosed, I always encourage them to do sports and/or performing arts so that parents will see the benefits of those outlets before jumping straight to medication.

I need therapy like...15 years ago.I'm so afraid of paying a ton of money per session though just to be told everything that I already know...
"Try doing a load of laundry every day (which is easy and won't take long) instead of waiting until you have 6 loads and shut down because of how overwhelmed you feel?"

"Why don't you try meal planning/grocery shopping at the beginning of the week so you know what you're making for dinner every day instead of panicking at 5:30pm daily and shutting down/ordering takeout yet again which is more money not saved for your family's future?"

"Create a cleaning plan so you know exactly what chores you need to do each day instead of getting overwhelmed thinking of everything at once that you need to do, shutting down and having things stay a mess?"
Etc etc.
All things I have been telling myself for literal years. Seriously why is it so hard to just do those simple things to make life for myself and my family easier? I'm also not interested in medication. So I just feel like somehow I need to find a way to cope...but I haven't been able to. Sorry for the rant.

I love your videos. I’m definitely ADHD, didn’t realise till in my 30s & until parenting my son. It explains SOooo much! Oh yes, we both gots it! Anyways, I relate to a lot here. Prayer & surrender are definitely #1. I ❤️ Wim Hoff style deep breathing to start the day :) Music or podcasts help ALL mundane tasks 🙌🏻 Keep being awesome, you’re so fun 🤩

My comment was way too long already but I have been doing almost all of these things that you've said including minimalism for the past year so it's been so nice to see someone who is so similar to me!!

ADHD medications might work well for some but not others, so these tips would definitely be helpful for those who can't take meds for whatever reasons :) As for myself, I find structures super important for my days, otherwise I won't get anything done!

Consistently inconsistent!!! 🤣 I have literally said this!!! 🤣

Prayer for me is a necessity first thing in the morning and really through the whole day. 🙏🏻
A vitamin that helps me is magnesium.
Having a planner has been a life-changing experience! The one I use gives me a view of the month and then each day. I use to overload my day with my to-do list which was super overwhelming. Now I only add my top three must do things... Dishes, laundry, and homeschool. (I homeschool my 6 kids.) I then add anything extra that I've done to the list and cross them off. Which for me feels extremely good. If I have a birthday I buy a card and then paperclip it to the week I'm going to need it. Or if I need to renew something I paperclip it to the month I need to do it. My planner makes me feel like I am on top of my life!
I know earthing sounds crazy but it really is wonderful!! Hiking and camping are also my favorite things to do in the summer. Snowmobiling is my favorite thing to do in the winter. They boost my mood hugely!! And as crazy as it might sound I always feel so much closer to the Lord!!💕

Thank you so much... I’m learning so much as a 30+ trying to navigate this for the first time ever. Instant subscribe when you mentioned prayer as your #1. I really believe God led me to your channel, the very first ADHD videos I’ve turned to! It’s such a struggle and has led to so much self loathing and despair. Sometimes all I can do is turn to God. But recently I’ve started seeing great results with nutrition and cardio/aerobic exercise too. (I love the Peloton app for outdoor running and walking.) thank you and God bless!!!

My magic pill is DHA for the brain and Minchex for the anxiety (both natural of course). It works as well as the drugs (in my opinion, better)....yes, I started dealing w/ my problem by trying 4 ADHD drugs. The side effects were terrible.
I do spend a lot of time in nature and prayer like you too.
The acceptance stage was amazing (ok, so I'm not stupid) and sad (wow; I have an issue that I need to deal with) at the same time :)

Then I was diagnosed with Irlen Syndrome later. That has had a hand in reducing the ADHD symptoms some too, as light for me is a big irritant for my brain. Looking back, I wish that I could still run. I had a terrible car accident, so I can no longer run marathons. But after a couple surgeries, I can walk.

Hey I just want to say, as someone who doesn't practice the same faith as you, I still personally found immense value in this video, so thank you so much!! All the best

One thing that has been really really helpful for me is to order Walmart pickup. I have saved so much money by not going in the store. Anyone reading my message that might want to try this should know there’s normally between a 2 and 4 day wait but it’s definitely worth it. At my house we pretty much get the same stuff all the time so when I run out of some thing I just added it to my Walmart order.
