I played an unhealthy amount of dying light when it came out. Some dude joined my game and gave me an infinite amount of med kits and King weapon improvements.

Tech Land added a mural for a youtuber called Badwolf Gaming in the game. He mainly had videos expressing his excitment for the game. He ended up passing away from Cancer and Tech Land added it for him. They also did one for George A Romero when he died as well. This shows that Tech Land is passionate about their games and the people that play them. Rest in Peace.

I just like how no matter what happens, there’s always a new way to duplicate items in Dying Light.

My favourite part of the game is that human enemies react logically to guns. You can find at least one gun before ammo becomes relatively common, so why keep it if you havent got ammo? You can hold up bandits with it because they dont know its empty. The game never explicitly states this, give it a try when a drop lands and bandits get there first (if they dont have a gun)

The skill trees mesh into the game perfectly, especially the agility tree, it just feels like Crane is getting better at surviving Haran and not just giving you bigger numbers to handle enemies with bigger numbers like most other games

I never understood the criticism for Dying Light's story. I guess maybe because I didn't rush through it? The world you're in is so well developed that the story feels weirdly natural. I always did all available side quests before continuing, I explored a ton, so that probably helped with the pacing. Maybe it was a bit cliche, but I really thought it was well done, especially compared to the sequel. One of the main reasons I like DL so much is because of the story, lol. I've replayed that and the Following dozens of times in the past few years and I have never gotten tired of it even a little.

I think another thing that I love about dying light is the comedic randomness that goes on when u explore the world. It's hilarious to be slashing at some zombies than out of nowhere a zombie just smacks the pavement after walking off the roof of a building lmfao.

What instantly gets you into the game is the opening menu and the Horizon theme. The synthwave really hits all the right notes.

*Worth pointing out:* the zombies only fly so far here because this was recorded during a Community Event that enabled Hyper Mode. Don't get me wrong the game is still VERY fun especially when you drop kick zombies off a building, but I just feel like people might be disappointed if they buy the game thinking zombies always fly that far when you drop kick them lol

The best thing for the story and overall lore wasn't the main missions and main story, it was actually the side missions. It really made the world of Dying Light feel like an actual, lived in place, with real people that felt genuinely human in their actions and motivations and did a better job at telling the story than the main missions. The main missions are like a monorail you take to reach the end of the game, the side missions are like the many exhibits you stop to gander at on the way there with so many rich, detailed, cultured tidbits that add so much to the experience. And that in itself is an achievement: making mostly enjoyable side missions that don't just feel like a chore to slog through and also expand upon the world you're in in ways the main story couldn't even with unlimited exposition dumps.

Can we talk about how lockpicking actually requires effort in this game?
Edit: A lot of people are saying that I'm just bad at lockpicking, but what I meant is that lockpicking isn't just an action your character performs on their own, but one you as the player have to be involved in. Basically you can still fuck it up under pressure.
But otherwise yes lockpicking is very easy.

Edit: no i have not played skyrim

I have over 700 hours into Dying Light, it's one of those games where you can keep playing it because it has no real ending, there's always more exploring, more unique kills, more treasures and easter eggs to find. It's the Skyrim of zombie games! :)

its not even the fact the game is amazing, its the fact that the devs kept the game going and working on it and giving love to the community. this game survived because of love and dedication

I dont know what you mean by saying Rais's men cant aim, in my game their bullets are basically heat seeking lol

I got the plat for DL just yesterday, in preparation for Dying Light 2. Could easily be released today, even though it’s a 2014 title. Techland has the potential to be THE number one Polish studio, now that CDPR has hit rock bottom reputation.

With regards to the story I actually love the introduction. The juxtaposition of being a crazy hype agent getting stuck by his paracute and then immediately getting bit having to be saved by random civilians is both hilarious and quite interesting. Nobody could have been prepared for zombies and that the first people you'd meet would try to kill you and take your shit. The fact is that Crane overestimated the task and got saved by the people who have been living that life for a while. Showing how experience beats everything you can read up about in a classroom.

What's wrong with the voice acting? Personally I think Roger did a phenomenal job as Crane.

The music in this game is amazing, the free roam/background music really makes you feel sympathy for the people of Harran

the story is one of its best parts...you can understand the motives behind everything you do if you just analyze the story a bit.
