I never had a frozen and reheated baked Mac and cheese that was ever as good as fresh. I finally learned to make a double batch of the cheese mixture, cooked the original with half, and then topped the baked portions with the remaining sauce before I freeze them. It makes all the difference!

Such a great idea to cook ahead and reheat. If I don’t feel up to cooking I just end up eating junk, or overly expensive takeout! Thanks Kimmie! Lovebyou! ♥️💕♥️

Hey, y'all! I have a tip for you when boiling water for pasta, spaghetti, etc. Cold water, and I put a couple tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in with my water to flavor the water while it comes to a boil - covered. Then, I salt the water and drop whatever pasta I'm using. I think the EVOO makes the water taste better, and the salt flavors the pasta itself. After draining the pasta, I return to a cold burner to mix everything in. It's a method I learned from my Cajun (Louisiana) chef buddy, and it hasn't ever failed me. Everything looks so good!

I love you cook the sausage and meatballs in the sauce. Way easier than cooking them separately!:)

Hi Kimmie,
The sweet and sour meatballs look delicious.
I love to add crumbled bacon to my macaroni and cheese.
Egg salad is awesome!
I recently received an ice cream machine as a gift and am looking forward to making my own ice cream.

When making lasagna, I make a big one and make smaller ones and freeze them. When I'm at work my husband can thaw one out and bake it.
Chilli is frozen in single portions and can be used to make chilli dogs or chilli fries when the kids are summer break

In Karrie Truman’s freezer meal book, she has the best homemade sweet & sour sauce using the leftover pineapple juice from the can. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! It’s my 5 year olds favorite meal.

This is a great idea, I do my prep a little different, but same concept. We are 2 since the kids are gone so when I cook, I still do for a family and we either have leftovers or I then package it up into containers and freezer so that when I do not want to cook I can pull something out of the freezer, and we still have a home cooked meal. This cuts down on eating out on the spur of the moment, so it saves money, and we are eating what we love.

I got a good giggle over the spilled pasta in the sink part!😂 I can't tell you how many times I've done that too, SO aggrivating!❤ You and ma arguing about her gravy...too funny!🤣

I love your make ahead meals. Right now I don’t have any freezer room, but it’s only my husband and me.

Yum! I especially like the look of the sweet & sour recipe! We kinda go the other way.... always cooking up more for a meal than we need that night & put 1-3 serves into the freezer of that meal. We often have leftovers on Fridays & share out a couple of previous meals so there's a variety of tastes. My Mum always used to cook at least 1 extra serve in case any of our friends ended up staying for dinner, so the tradition has continued. We love having meals in the freezer for emergencies. 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨

Hi kimmy, I read an article the other day about shariacha sauce that there were not going to be making it for a year or so because of the weather and a shortage of the peppers they use. It said something about the peppers also have to sit for a while after they pick them. If it’s something your family loves you might want to stock up.

I put mayonnaise, mustard, celery and cheddar cheese in my egg salad and eat it on toast. Really good.

Line your sink with paper towels when draining pasta. I did that when I first learned how to make pasta. Saves it from being wasted. And drain SLOW-LY, SLOW-LY, The paper towel trick saved me so many times! And I never rinse any pasta! And save about 1 cup of the delish pasta water, too. It will keep your sauce from being too thick so it can mix in better. My late grandmother and mom taught me that trick. Now, for the meatloaf, I found that mixing a little ketchup into my meat mixture for the meatloaf works to keep it all moist while it's cooking. I always add liquid smoke, Worcestershire, kosher salt (tastes better than regular table salt), and freshly cracked black pepper to my mixture. And ketchup on top. I like to cook in the Faith and Flour batch cooking style. Cook Once Eat All Week cookbook by Cassie Joy Garcia is a favorite! But my best advice to you is to intentionally slow everything all the way down when you're in your kitchen. Turn on some Jim Brickman (instrumental piano), Kenny G, or my favorite, Gospel music, and just let yourself savor the moment of cooking and providing for your family. It's a gift and a blessing. Loved the meals!
