I'm glad Hori could take the time and make an additional extended chapter for the ending. I think that's why he did it too, because this chapter is longer than normal, so he needed more space and time after some rest. This makes the series end up on a MUCH better note, especially for Deku compared to that of before.

It's such a shame that shipping is what alot of that side in the fandom payed attention too instead of the great chapter that 431 was in fleshing out the original ending and being a proper resolution to MHA as a whole. Great ending 9/10

My biggest problem with chapter 430 wasn’t that Izuku and Ochako didn’t get together (despite the IzuOcha trash that I am); it was that there were clearly reciprocated feelings and major build up for 10(!) years of heavily implying an eventual relationship just for it to be completely dropped. Izuku losing his quirk and *seemingly* being abandoned by his classmates was bad enough, but at least the super suit was able to mostly rectify that in the end. Then chapter 431 comes along and fixes almost everything! It shows that class 1-A are still close despite their busy schedules, Deku says he still would become a teacher even if he still had OFA, and his super suit allows him to spend even more time with his friends. And of course, 10 years of waiting finally pays off, and we get Deku confessing to Ochako and her immediately reciprocating. My heart! It bleeds!

People need to stop with the Izuku dad thing. The guy was working overseas to provide for his family and when stuff got crazy, the borders to Japan were literally closed. There was no reason for him to show up, and even if he did, it would be when Izuku was at home, so we wouldn't see it. The manga focuses on Izuku's HERO ACADEMIA. Not his home life where his dad probably gets to visit for a few days every few months.
