Wow! I've been sewing (off & on) for 49 years and never heard such a wonderfully clear explanation of what adjusting the tension does. Thank you so much! I just worked on a project last night, and it's been at least 7 years since I've had the sewing machine out and the thread tension for the fabric I'm using is obviously off. Thank you so very much for this video. You've helped me realize how the tension was not high enough on my machine for the fabric I use when I get the "bird's nest" underneath. I always thought it was because the tension was TOO high. Of course, I know how every kind of fabric needs a different tension selection - I was just wondering how and why I kept getting those "bird's nests" when I ever sew.
