Quick Tension Adjustment on a Vintage Singer Sewing Machine

A quick fix if your tension device is not providing enough tension and your upper thread is too slack in the higher numbers (5-9).

Set the tension to 0, push the numbered dial in, turn the thumb screw to the right to increase tension and release the numbered dial.

This works on many of the vintage Singer models, i.e. 15k, 66k, 99k, 201k, 306k, 319k and 320k.

oh yes it did if the lil bump does not line up w zero youll never get it right. i spent 4 hour tryng to fix bottom looping i wish i would have seen this 1st thank you doll your the best
